How do I connect Apple Card to my account? If I can not, what method can I post Apple Card charges to my Self-Employed account?

Good morning, drjimharris.

I can help you in bringing in your Apple Card charges to your QuickBooks account.

Currently, the option to connect Apple Card to QBSE is unavailable. I'll take this as feedback and share this with our product developers. This way, it might be given a chance to be added to our product updates. For now, we can manually upload your bank transactions via CSV file. We can start by signing into Apple's website and follow the on-screen instructions on how to download them.

Once done, you can follow these steps in importing your credit card transactions:

  1. Log into your QBSE account.
  2. Click the Gear ⚙ icon.
  3. Select Imports.
  4. Choose the appropriate account you want to add the transactions into.
  5. Click Browse and find the CSV file you downloaded from your bank.
  6. Select the file, then click Open.
  7. Hit Continue to complete the process.

If you want to check if there are any duplicate transactions, you can follow these steps:

  1. In your QBSE account, go to Transactions.
  2. Select the appropriate account from the Account: All drop-down menu.
  3. Select All from the Date drop-down menu, then check the transactions.
  4. Delete the duplicates (if there's any).

Check out this article that will guide you in  keeping your financial records accurate: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Reach out to me again if you have any other concerns or require further assistance in managing your credit card transactions. I'll be right here to keep helping.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, PLEASE move forward to integrate Apple Card into an offered account for QB. This would be MUCH MUCH appreciated!

I learned how to export the CVS file from my Apple Card, so I am now manually entering each charge into my QB. Again, would help so much to have the automated direct import.

Thank you for the explicit procedure. I too have been wondering how to upload any of my transactions with ease. Please let me know as soon as your developers have a solution. I’m sure we aren’t the only ones in this quest. Otherwise I am very pleased with the App.

How do I connect Apple Card to my account? If I can not, what method can I post Apple Card charges to my Self-Employed account?

When I do this the charges all imported as income, and to a new account "cash" that I can't alter the name of to represent the apple card.  How do I get the system to recognize that these are CHARGES, not INCOME?  Why are the add accounts options so limited- why can't we just create a new credit card account without the web-connect to the bank, and name it whatever we like?

I'd be delighted to answer your questions, @starfinder.

You may have imported these transactions with a positive sign, that's why it was it was recognized as income rather than charges/expenses. In importing CSV files, you can use either a 3-column or 4-column format.

When you edit these transactions using Excel, make sure to enter charges/payments/expenses with negative signs.

I've added a table below for visual reference.

3 Columns

The 3-column template has columns for the Date, a Description of the transaction, and the Amount of the transaction.

1.PNG

4 Columns

The 4-column template has a Date column, a Description column, and both a Credit and a Debit column.

2.PNG

You can add bank accounts as many as you can as long as the financial institution is supported by QuickBooks. That's why we recommend using WebConnect in downloading bank transactions because we're getting the actual data that is recorded from your bank.

Also, you can change the bank's name by clicking the Pencil icon beside it.

Here's how:

  1. You can click the Gear icon on the top right.
  2. Select Bank accounts.
  3. Click the Pencil icon beside the bank account.
  4. Tap on the blank space to save it.

For reference on how to manually enter single transactions and recent transactions in QuickBooks, check these articles:

Feel free to place a comment if you have more questions. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!

The procedure described is much too cumbersome. I guess I need to decide whether to not use the Apple Card or not use QBSE....very disappointing.

Are you going to add the Apple Card soon as an option? Would be great to just sign in to account so all transactions flow through QBSE.

Thanks,

Jordan

I was hoping that by now this would have been fixed by QuickBooks, seems crazy that 8 months later they still have not created a way for this to integrate.    I am sorry but this is not acceptable.  Please fix this so that it will integrate, it is too cumbersome to have to convert the file and then bring it in.

Once again, not surprisingly so, this is an important feature that does not get implemented while the marketing and engineering team worry about how they can develop some other features that they can charge for.

It is ludicrous that this is not possible. I mean, this is 2020, Apple Pay and Apple Card is one of the fastest growing payment services, but Intuit once again don't do anything about it.

There are just so many glaring misses and missing features to really use QBO, and I don't see any progress in getting anything implemented.

I think the only input they understand is if we call just cancel our QBO and go somewhere else. There are plenty of other, more suitable and better configured programs out there that do the same and better.

Intuit is not listening customers, there is only lone language they seem to understand that that is the flow of money. Let's divert it to make them listen. I will.

Also agree that it's ridiculous that this isn't integrated. The bugs and crappy development of this product is outrageous given they have a monopoly. Ever try to email A/R statements to a bunch of different clients? Every try to figure out where the email address is extracted from for certain forms?

Intuit is great at collecting money...and a lot more since they pushed us all to online. Their dev team is either lazy or incompetent.

Hello, CBoyDave.

I personally use Apple Card as well and I think it's a great addition to our Online Banking feature for iOS or Apple users.

Our engineers might be working to bring the service into QuickBooks Self-Employed. However, I'd recommend sending a request for Apple Card to be added to our Online Banking feature. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions, then click the Connect account button.
  2. Type Apple card in the search bar (or use Apple Card's browser mode link).
  3. Scroll down until you see the Still can't find your bank? link. Click the Request support for your bank button instead if there are no results.
  4. Enter the name and the link in the box.
  5. Click Request.

We will work with Apple to establish a connection with our Online Banking system. However, they will still have the final say regarding the request process.

In the meantime, you'll want to import your Apple Card transactions through a CSV file:

  1. On the Transactions page, click the arrow icon beside Connect account.
  2. Choose Import transactions.
  3. Click the Import older transactions button under Action.
  4. Browse for the CSV file you've downloaded from Apple Card.
  5. Hit Continue

More details about the process can be found here: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

After importing them, you can start categorizing your transactions for your estimated taxes.

I'll offer assistance again if you have other concerns with QuickBooks Self-Employed. You can add your replies at the bottom and I'll get back to you.

How do I connect Apple Card to my account? If I can not, what method can I post Apple Card charges to my Self-Employed account?

I have multiple credit card accounts in QuickBooks for Mac 2019 V18.0.9 R10 Build 3424. When I download transactions from one Master card, QB opens it in my Discover card and tells me there are no transactions to download

Hey there Foosh9.

Thanks for stopping by the Community this afternoon. I'm happy to assist you today. I have a few troubleshooting steps for you to try as it sounds like there may be a connectivity issue. Follow the steps below that can be found in this article

Solution 1: Set up Web Connect

If you’re importing a .qbo file for the first time, ensure you already set up Web Connect.

Solution 2: Edit the problem account

  1. In QuickBooks, go to Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account. This unlinks it from imported online transactions.
  3. Select Edit in the Action window.
  4. Select the Online Settings tab.
  5. On the Download Transactions window, select Not enabled, then Save.
  6. On the Edit Account window, select OK.
  7. Create a duplicate of the account, but give it a different name.
  8. Rename the original account with the same name of the duplicate.
  9. Import the file.

I would also recommend reaching out to our support team for further instruction should the steps above not resolve your issue. If you have any other questions, feel free to post here anytime. Thanks and I hope you have a lovely day.

Not entirely true, I could understand being frustrated about one thing. But you look at QuickBooks and it has 600 different options and you pick apart one or a few things it cant do.

Feedback is submitted directly to them, If. You would understand how an Online program works, and how coding  and the cloud system works with their features. You would rather them slap in something that didn't work properly and have another reason to complain other than just waiting till these features get implemented.

go pay 500$ a month for a different service instead of up to 125$ depending on the subscription level in QBO. One customer leaves I'm sure 5000 join them.

Hi katine,

As of now, we're unable to connect an Apple card in QuickBooks Self-Employed. You can add transactions manually through a CSV file. You can log in to your Apple Card website and download transactions from there into a CSV file format. Then, follow these steps on how to import your transactions into the system:

Let me show you how:

  1. Log in to https://selfemployed.intuit.com/.
  2. Click the gear icon and click Imports.
  3. Select the import transactions link at the bottom of the table.
  4. Click Browse and open the CSV file you've downloaded from the bank.
  5. Match the column name to the data under it.
  6. Click Continue and wait until the file successfully imports.
  7. Then, Done.

For more details, you can click this link: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

After the import is done, you can go to the Transactions page where you can review and categorize your transactions. I'll also add an article that will help identify which category the transaction belongs to. See Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please don't hesitate to mention me in your reply or post if there's anything else that you need assistance with. Take care and stay safe!

4. Under Statement select the previous month (e.g. March 2021)

5. Select Export Transaction

9. Transaction magically appear in Downloaded Transactions.
