How do I stop QB pop-ups trying to sell me additional services or making suggestions about accepting online payments, etc. Extremely distracting and annoying.

I should not have to close popups before I can even use the software.

I understand that the ads may affect your navigation. However, the option to disable them permanently is currently unavailable.

These ads aim to guide and suggest ways to optimize your QuickBooks Online experience. To remove the pop-ups from your QuickBooks homepage, kindly click on the X or No, thanks buttons.

Moreover, you may want to browse this page that contains helpful articles that can guide you in managing your QuickBooks account: QuickBooks Online Help Articles.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. Stay safe.

In other words, there is NO way for you to turn them off or keep them from popping up, because even with the X or close, they will still pop up.  And QB has NO intensions of changing that.  They like to annoy their customer any way they can.

Yes, @MsNorthPND18  just can't bring themselves to say it, but yes, there is no way to turn off the ads. Intuit likes it that way. They do not care that no one else likes it.

But hey, at least you get to pay a lot more for QB Online and get a lot less than when using QB Desktop. Isn't that nice?

"the option to disable them permanently is currently unavailable"  That answers my question.  We are forced to close popups whether we want them or not.

"To remove the pop-ups from your QuickBooks homepage, kindly click on the X or No, thanks buttons."  This is exactly what I should NOT have to do.  Intuit insults the customer by forcing popups in a software that we are paying for.

Today I am getting the popup for EVERY invoice I've created.  I have to X out of it, and then my invoice is still there and I have to save it again.  I called the helpdesk and they helpfully told me "no one can control them".  She doubled down that Intuit itself has no control over ads for THEIR products popping up in THEIR platform.  I've gotten the popups occasionally before, but today it is constant and I'm fed up.

Every single invoice.  Every single time.  This is happening to us, too.  Add in a slow network and productivity has ground to a halt.  Please fix this!

That's a lie.

@KFib My coworker just reported that he signed out and back in multiple times (out of frustration) and now he has the new invoice layout and the accept online payments pop-up has stopped.  Not rational but it worked.

There has to be some way to discontinue these popups.  We pay lots of money to use this product.  I've clicked on the X  - EVERY TIME to get rid of DROPBOX advertisement but it still comes up.

Please fix

Intuit needs a new competitor. Intuit is now turning its back on its users. Users will find other applications to replace QB. Our annoyance is much greater as we use multiple monitors and the popup can be anywhere preventing work while seeking to look for the offending stoppage. This is damaging to concentration and frustrating. Perhaps a class action to make Intuit develop a popup decline button is something that should be considered by a class action firm. I know many will join as there is an obvious dislike for the company now.

Well the problem is even worse now.  I get a pop-up when I hit the logout button.  Then you have to close the pop-up before you can log out.  What's more, the logout disappears when you close the pop-up.  So now you have to hit the logout, close a pop-up, and then hit logout again.

I dream of the day that a competitor to QuickBooks becomes available.  Intuit Corporation despises it's customers and I will gladly leave when the opportunity arises.

I'm having the same issues with their latest 'Free live chat with our specialists'

The dialogue box provides a 'Not now' and 'Tell me more'' selection options.  I have all pop-ups blocked in my settings.  If I choose Not now, it re-appears every 30 seconds.  I have an online ticket and call center ticket.  The call center agent actually advised me to accept the $50/month charge for expert help in order to make the add go away.  Has anyone else seen this? Any solutions?

Thanks for raising this concern here about being advised to pay a charge to remove the advertisement permanently from your account, @csbauer.

I'll add information about the pop-up advertisements in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

First off, I'd like to know if the pop-up is QuickBooks-related or not. If the advertisement isn't QuickBooks-related and suspicious, I recommend clearing the cookies from your browser to refresh the website preferences that causing the odd pop-up.

Here's how for Google Chrome:

  1. At the top right of the browser, select the More icon.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security.
  4. Choose Cookies and other site data.
  5. Pick See all cookies and site data..
  6. Select Remove all shown or the trash can icon.
  7. Restart Google Chrome for the changes to take effect.

For another browser, you can read this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Aside from clearing the cookies, you can turn on the pop-up blockers on your browser if the advertisements  aren't not from QuickBooks. You can utilize the links below, depending on what browser you use:

If it's QuickBooks-related advertisements, you can remove them by clicking the X or No, thanks buttons.

Additionally, QBO Support won't ask for charges to stop a pop-up blocked notification. There are support scams that are convincing and offering you a charge for a service without Intuit authorization.

You can read this article to help you determine it quickly: Identify suspicious activity, phishing scams, and potential fraud.

Additionally, to avoid contacting the incorrect QuickBooks support team, you can click this link to reach us without logging in to your account: What can we help you with?

You may want to learn how to change the email and password of your account. Feel free to read this article: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Don't hesitate to return here for additional questions about pop-up messages. We'll be willing to help. Keep safe, and have a good one.
