QuickBooks time message when trying to approve time. "still clocked in for the pay period"

Everyone is clocked out. I have a manager trying to approve their staff's time and getting the following message, "still clocked in for the pay period". Since that is not true, does someone know how to fix it?

The message still clocked in for the pay period can sometimes appear due to a few underlying reasons, even if all employees are clocked out. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

 

Verify your Timesheets:

  1. Go to your QuickBooks Time (formerly TSheets) account.
  2. Navigate to the Timesheets section.
  3. Manually review the timesheets for each employee to ensure all shifts are properly ended, and there are no overlapping or missing clock-out times. Sometimes, a manual correction is needed.

 

If you've ensured everything is all set, let's proceed with troubleshooting your browser. Sometimes, a browser fills too much cache to handle the QuickBooks Time webpage. When this happens, some functions will slow down or even not work on any website. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window.

 

Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

 

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies to clear temporary files running in your browser that have caused the malfunctions. Otherwise, use other supported browsers to ensure it runs QBO efficiently.

 

If the prompt still appears, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Time support to have this case investigated thoroughly. They have the right tools to pinpoint the cause of the problem and notify the engineers to have it fixed as soon as possible.
