Hi matt.bitsko,

That's an excellent question!

If you're using the Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced subscription, we're glad to let you know that you can use the direct deposit feature to pay your vendors. You can refer to this article for detailed steps on setting up a new contractor: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1507923

If you're using Quickbooks Online Payroll service, this option is currently not available. Direct deposit feature works exclusively to pay your employees.

I hope that I was able to answer your question for today matt.bitsko! Please let me know if you have any further questions by adding a comment here. Thanks.

I'm sorry but I cannot find this feature. When I click on the Employees tab, there is nothing that gives me an option to "Add new contractor". You need to update this feature or remove this post because it is no longer helpful.

The post is accurate if you are using Intuit Online Payroll (which is integrated in QuickBooks Mac desktop) you can use direct deposit to pay contractors. On the Employees tab below your listed employees is a Contractors section with a blue plus button that says "Add a Contractor".

If you are using QuickBooks Online Payroll according to InuitMaryF that options is not available. I don't know - I don't have access to that service - but either way the post is accurate.

If you are using Intuit Online Payroll from within QuickBooks Mac desktop it is accurate. I do it. You set up the contractors direct deposit bank account in the vendor set up. I'm not entirely sure if IOP Enhanced Payroll is the same and Intuit Online Payroll though. You can access IOP by www.macpayroll.com although I always recommend accessing it from with QuickBooks Mac desktop (that way data interchange works).

Thanks for joining this thread and subscribing to our Direct Deposit feature, @dabdullah516.

Being stuck at the Payment Processing section may be caused by the stored data in your website. Let's log into your QuickBooks Online account using an incognito or private browser.

Kindly use either of the following shortcut keys:

 • Google Chrome: press CTRL + Shift + N
 • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P
 • Internet Explorer: press CTRL + Shift + P
 • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you can access your account and continue the payment process, you have to clear the cache of your regular web browsers. Clearing the cache will get everything back up and running as designed. Otherwise, try using a different browser.

In case you're using our Desktop version, you can run the Verify and Rebuild tool. It identify and resolves corrupted data in QuickBooks.

That's it. Let me know the outcome and if you need further assistance. I’m always here ready to help. Take care always.
