However, if you're still unable to add a new expense item, we can go ahead and do it on a new web browser or opening an incognito/private window. this will help us determine a browser-related issue.

Then, go back to adding expense item procedure. If it works, follow the steps to clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. This way, the temporary stored cache in the main browser that causes the problem will be deleted.
Otherwise, I'd recommend using another supported, up-to-date browser.
