Can you batch or mass delete purchase orders ?

Hello debra5261,

QuickBooks Online doesn't have the ability to batch delete the purchase orders. To delete, you need to open the purchase order, click More from the bottom and choose Delete.

Please let me know if there's anything else that you need help with.

Can you batch or mass delete purchase orders ?

Currently Quickbooks is deaf to user requests and currently wants you to sit and delete everything one by one. Pretty simple to implement I don't understand why this hasn't been addressed. I started at a company with hundreds of open POs dating back to 2015 for multiple vendors with no way to remove other than wasting hours of productivity. Even a "delete all POs older than X" would be awesome. Very disappointing.

Can you batch or mass delete purchase orders ?

Is there a way for Intuit programers to access and bulk delete or close transactions?  Is there a support package that you can get to clean out old data?

Hello, @kdelamore.

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. I'm here to share some information about deleting or closing transactions in bulk.

Just to confirm, are you trying to bulk delete or close Purchase Order transactions as well? If so, this option is currently unavailable in both QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll need to delete these transactions one by one as a workaround.

On the other hand, you can contact our Support Team so they can check if there's any support package available to clean out your old data. Here's how to reach them:

1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
2. If asked, choose your QuickBooks product.
3. Select your QuickBooks version (QBO or QBDT).
4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

I can see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business. While this option isn't available yet, I encourage you to submit a feedback to our Product Development Team for review when determining features to be added in updates. I'm going to submit feedback from my side as well.

To submit feedback, here's how:

1. For QuickBooks Online, this can be done directly through your account by clicking the Gear icon in the top right corner, then select Feedback or by going to the following link: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests.
2. For QuickBooks Desktop:

  • At the top menu bar, go to Help.
  • Click Send Feedback Online.
  • Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
  • Click Skip and send a message.
  • Select Feedback as the Category.

That's it! Please let me know if you're referring to something else so I can get back to you right away. I'll be here to help. Take care and have a great weekend.

Can you batch or mass delete purchase orders ?

Has there been any progress on this?  I have a number of clients with old purchase orders (more then 1,000) that we would like to void/ clear.

There isn't an option to void or cancel a purchase order in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You might consider creating a copy of the purchase order then delete the original one. I can walk you through how to do it:

  1. Go to the Expenses menu and choose the Expenses tab.
  2. Click the Filter dropdown and select Purchase Order as the Type.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Locate the purchase order and click it.
  5. Click the More option below and choose Copy.
  6. In case you want to make changes to the copy, you can do so.
  7. Once done, click Save and close.

Here's an article you can read to learn more about purchase orders: How to Use Purchase Order?

You'll need to do it one at a time to delete the Purchase Order. To do it, open the purchase order, and then click More. Then, select Delete

  1. Click the Search icon on the top menu.
  2. Choose Advanced Search.
  3. In the Search drop-down button and select Purchase Orders.
  4. Hit Search, then choose on the purchase order to open it.
  5. Click More at the bottom page of the purchase order.
  6. Choose Delete.
  7. Then, click the Yes button to confirm.

On the other hand, you can browse the list of common questions about purchase order in this article: Explore actions within a purchase order

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. You can always count on us here in the Community to get you back to business every step of the way. Take care and enjoy the day!

I admire your interest in having the feature to batch delete purchase orders, @Elast801

As of the moment, this option is currently unavailable. Our team is constantly taking suggestions into account while making product updates. As we value your suggestions, I recommend sending this feedback to our Product Development Team.

In QuickBooks Desktop, here's how you can submit feedback:

  1. From the top menu bar, choose Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click on Product Suggestion.
  3. Click on the drop-down for Type of Feedback and select Product Suggestion.
  4. Select the Product Area, then enter your thoughts and suggestions.
  5. Once done, select Send Feedback.

While in QuickBooks Online, you can follow these steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your feedback Suggestion.
  3. Press Next.

On top of that, we can track the progress of our feature request by visiting our Feedback forum page.
