Is there a way for Intuit programers to access and bulk delete or close transactions? Is there a support package that you can get to clean out old data?
Hello, @kdelamore.
Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. I'm here to share some information about deleting or closing transactions in bulk.
Just to confirm, are you trying to bulk delete or close Purchase Order transactions as well? If so, this option is currently unavailable in both QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll need to delete these transactions one by one as a workaround.
On the other hand, you can contact our Support Team so they can check if there's any support package available to clean out your old data. Here's how to reach them:
1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
2. If asked, choose your QuickBooks product.
3. Select your QuickBooks version (QBO or QBDT).
4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.
I can see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business. While this option isn't available yet, I encourage you to submit a feedback to our Product Development Team for review when determining features to be added in updates. I'm going to submit feedback from my side as well.
To submit feedback, here's how:
1. For QuickBooks Online, this can be done directly through your account by clicking the Gear icon in the top right corner, then select Feedback or by going to the following link: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests.
2. For QuickBooks Desktop:
That's it! Please let me know if you're referring to something else so I can get back to you right away. I'll be here to help. Take care and have a great weekend.
Has there been any progress on this? I have a number of clients with old purchase orders (more then 1,000) that we would like to void/ clear.
Joining this thread, LWFORTEM.
There isn't an option to void or cancel a purchase order in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You might consider creating a copy of the purchase order then delete the original one. I can walk you through how to do it:
Here's an article you can read to learn more about purchase orders: How to Use Purchase Order?
You'll need to do it one at a time to delete the Purchase Order. To do it, open the purchase order, and then click More. Then, select Delete.
On the other hand, you can browse the list of common questions about purchase order in this article: Explore actions within a purchase order
Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. You can always count on us here in the Community to get you back to business every step of the way. Take care and enjoy the day!
Has there been any progress on batch deleting purchase orders?
I admire your interest in having the feature to batch delete purchase orders, @Elast801.
As of the moment, this option is currently unavailable. Our team is constantly taking suggestions into account while making product updates. As we value your suggestions, I recommend sending this feedback to our Product Development Team.
In QuickBooks Desktop, here's how you can submit feedback:
While in QuickBooks Online, you can follow these steps:
On top of that, we can track the progress of our feature request by visiting our Feedback forum page.
Loop me in if you have other concerns or want to share your practices using the product. I'd be glad to assist you. Take care.
