Why doesn't the data entered in the memo field on the original entry not appear in that field on the P & L report?

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the data entered in the memo field of an entry or transaction won't show in the Profit and Loss report (except for other reports such as Transaction Detail by Account).
However, you can utilize the description field instead. This way it will be displayed on the report.

You say that the memo/description shows up in the Transaction Detail by Account report - but it does not. The field "Memo/description" is checked as "on" but there is no data listed ? Can you explain what I need to do>
I’m here to share some information with you, @kserengeti.
The Transaction Detail by Account report can generate a memo and description details. These details will only appear if you’ve entered an information in the Memo/description field when the time you recorded your transactions. QuickBooks Online will only based on the information you’ve entered.
If you have these memos/descriptions already and they didn’t show up, this might be a browser-related issue. Cached data can sometimes become corrupted, which affects the platform's functionalities. You can perform some steps here to get this resolved.
First, open your QuickBooks Online account to an incognito or private window for testing. Refer to these shortcut keys for quick navigation:
If everything looks good and intact, you’ll need to get back to your main browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also utilize other browsers except for Internet Explorer.
Otherwise, you can edit the transaction manually and then add information in the Memo and Description field. I’ll show you how:

This is dumb! There is no reason the software can't be taught to put what one enters in the Memo box on the main page on the Detailed P&L page.
