There are two ways on how to make a contractor inactive either from the Worker or Expenses menu.

Here's how you can do it from the Workers menu:

  1. Got to Workers on the left side menu and choose Contractors.
  2. Choose a contractor from the list.
  3. Tick the drop-down menu under the contractor's name and select Mark as inactive.

From the Expenses menu, here's how:

  1. Go to Expenses, on the left side menu.
  2. Choose Vendors.
  3. Select a vendor from the list.
  4. Tick Edit and tap Make inactive.
  5. Press Yes.to confirm.

Both options still don't work.  I called Quickbooks and they told me to call payroll for quickbooks and their something like we don't have enough staff and they are working remotely.  Still can't get this figured out.  Please help.  It's been 3-4 months and I still can't get help and I'm still getting billed for contractors that no longer work for me.  Hope I can get a reimbursement sometime or just help me take them out of my payroll
