Fraud call from Quickbooks

Your security is our top priority, @ted35. I appreciate you for reaching out to us here in the Community. I can share information about how you can report fraudulent activity in QuickBooks Online.

A suspicious email is sometimes a scam to get you to provide personal information. These scams come in a variety of forms, but they all look pretty convincing. If you're not sure whether an email came from Intuit, look for the following signs:

  • We’ll never ask for your info in an email.
  • Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com.
  • Any link we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address.

If you receive an Intuit email you aren't sure about, see our security notices for details of suspicious emails reported by other customers. Also, I encourage you to report the fraudulent activity to our Intuit Security team by sending an email to spoof@intuit.com.

If you want to speak to live support, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the necessary tools and can help you further in a much more secure space.

Our support for Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday). For Advanced, any time, any day.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

Furthermore, I recommend browsing this article for you to easily recognize official Intuit correspondence and websites: Identify Suspicious Activity, Phishing Scams, and Potential Fraud.

I'm also including this article to learn more about how we handle your company's information and keep it secure: Privacy and security in QuickBooks. It also has other links related to security, which provide you with tips about this matter.

If you have additional questions in mind about security and QuickBooks, feel free to place a comment by hitting the Reply button. I'd be happy to help. Stay safe and well!

Fraud call from Quickbooks

These calls are common.  NEVER give your info. NEVER call back the number they give you or the one they call from.  Intuit/ QB will never call and ask you for a credit card or tell you that your acct needs to renew.  They just shut you off.

@LollyNino_C   FRAUDULENT EMAILS END THE SAME WAY!!  It's called phishing.  Look it up.

I just had this happen too and the most concerning thing is that they had the last 4 of the bank account as well. Did anything ever come of it for you? Was your account safe?

Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention, Smart. Security and keeping your account safe are among our top priorities. I'm here to help ensure to prevent this card fraud in QuickBooks.

There are many reasons in today's environment to be cautious of suspicious calls and messages, including phishing scams, viruses, and other malware.

It’s concerning that someone has partial details of your bank account. While the last digit alone doesn’t grant full access, it can be used in fraudulent activities when combined with other information. I suggest contacting your bank to check for suspicious activity and take the necessary actions to secure your account.

Intuit uses different email addresses to communicate with its customers. If you've received one that you believe is from us, you may use the information on this link to check if it's legitimate: Official email communication from Intuit Payments.

If it looks suspicious, please forward it to the phishing/spoofing e-mail page so we can review it. You can also visit this link: http://security.intuit.com. It's where Intuit's security team posts information about SPAM and Phishing email attempts.

Furthermore, I have included these articles that offer valuable insights on safeguarding your business account and data against fraudulent activities:

I also included this page in our online resources for future reference. This page covers installing and syncing apps, tracking employee time, and setting up online payments.

We take security seriously and are committed to protecting your data. For further concerns or assistance with security measures, please comment below. The Community is ready to help.
