Hi all! I have the self employed quickbooks, and I have been receiving money from unemployment this year. I have no employees, just me, how do I categorized that income?

You should reach out to your Tax Accountant.  I'm sure they'd appreciate the quick phone call now so that you can have the payments entered they way they want to see them.  Then they don't have to spend extra time later re-categorizing everything.

If you're looking for just how to do it for now since it's not attached to income from a Client.  I'd enter them as Income:Other until you talk to your Accountant.  This way they'll all be in one separate account and easy to find and change.

Let me help you from here, Andreaenger-phot.

If you're unable to see Income:Other, you can use Income instead. First, you need to select the Type. You'll have to choose between Business or Personal, then select the Income account as the category.

As always, we suggest reaching out to your tax adviser on the best way to categorize this transaction.
