How can I copy a check?

Thanks for joining the Community, @bob24. I can provide clarification on copying a transaction.

QuickBooks Online doesn't have a way to directly copy a check, however, you may wish to consider using the Recurring Transaction feature. This would allow you to schedule transactions or have templates available so that you wouldn't have to enter all of the payroll information every time. I'm including an article which provides additional insight into this feature: Create Templates for Recurring Transactions.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. Have a good one.

You will notice if you actually ever use this product,  that there is an option at the bottom of every transaction (except QBO Payroll, which this question is not about) that says "More". If you click on it you will see an option that says "Copy"

How can I copy a check?

My More box while editing transactions just disappeared.  Any idea how to get it back?

How can I copy a check?

Hi there, Lance407.

Thanks for being part of the Online Community. I’d be glad to provide information and steps so you're able to see the More option.

It's possible that the zoom function is activated or changed. That maybe the reason the More box disappeared while editing transactions. I suggest adjusting the browser's zoom settings and font size. This way, you'll able to adjust how QuickBooks displays the information on the screen.

For Google Chrome

  1. Click the 3 dots and then select Settings.
  2. Under Appearance, click the Font size and Page zoom drop-down arrow and pick a size.
  3. Refresh the page, then go back to your QBO account.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Go to the Hamburger icon and then choose Settings.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow beside Size, then update it.
  3. Refresh the page, then check the size will of your QBO account.

If the issue persists, I recommend checking the required display settings for QuickBooks Online. You can go to the computer's display settings section in this article: Unable to see the entire page in QBO.

If the problem continues to occur, it might be your regular browser is experiencing some issues and that's why the More option just disappeared. I advising logging in your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.

Please refer to this article to see steps on how you can find transactions in your account registers so you can review or edit them: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers.

If you have additional questions or other concerns, feel free to reach out to me. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
