Hello there, kdb_2112.
We're unable to add the job/project field within the bank feeds. You'll want to manually add the transactions to a specific job/project. Then, you can add/accept the downloaded transactions, and match them to the existing ones.
Here's how to add a transaction to a project:
When adding or matching a downloaded transaction, select the project name from the Select Customer (optional) drop-down. If you want to allocate an expense to multiple projects, select Split and divide the expense to the different projects. I've got you the article so you can add/match the downloaded transactions to the transactions under a specific job/project: How to add and match downloaded banking transactions.
If you have other questions, I'm just a comment away.
I have the same issue, when importing transactions they need to be assigned to a job. As it stands I have to enter more details for every transaction that is imported in bank feeds. Why can't you just add a drop down box to assign it to the proper job. The info that you gave "click project" doesn't even exist. I am using Quickbooks Premier Contractor Edition 2019.
These are simple and COMMON needs for all contractors (and most other businesses) that need to track expenses to a job. You constantly make us purchase updates of your software, however you FAIL to ever bring any useful updates. This is a REAL PROBLEM that needs to be addressed.
Hello there, @Sherall0.
I can see how beneficial being able to add jobs directly to your bank feeds transactions. Right now, the only way to add extra information is by going to the Add More Details window.
Also, the steps provided by my colleague about projects are only applicable to the QuickBooks Online users. Please know that I appreciate your input on this feature, and I'll make sure to let our product engineers know about your suggestion.
As we assess this, I suggest you visit the New Features section to stay updated with all the changes that are being made. Here are the steps:
Please know your voice is important to us, and we take customer’s suggestion as an opportunity to guide us on which area of the product we need to improve on.

Can Quickbooks Desktop add job costing from bank feed to a new feature request. This is incredibly time consuming to go back and add a job to each and every credit card transaction.
Quickbooks, please add this to your feature request list. The ability to have a jobs field from the bank feed window would save a substantial amount of time. It is very time consuming to go back and manually classify purchases by job later.
Hello, @villanuevaconstruction.
Currently, the ability to add job costing directly to your downloaded bank transactions is not available. I can see how it would be beneficial to you to have the ability to upload your signature electronically. I'd personally forward this to our Product Development Team for future product feature updates.
In the meantime, you'd want to manually create your transactions in QuickBooks and associate it to a specific job. Once completed, you can match the downloaded bank transactions with your existing ones. You can browse these articles for more detailed information about how job tracking works:

Hey there, @JRH2.
Thanks for joining in on this thread.
At this time, there hasn't been an update on if or when the job field will be added to the bank feed in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. However, I'll send another request to our Product Developers so they can consider this in one of the upcoming releases.
Using our QuickBooks Blog to keep up with what's new in the product can be helpful for you and your business in the future.
Our Product Developers take these feedback requests very seriously, and I'll make sure yours gets to them as soon as possible. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask. I'm only a post away if you need me. Wishing you and your business continued success.
Thanks @Candice C!!
Actually using QBDT not sure if the distinction will matter, but I will be quite sad if QBO gets this to be available and DT does not, lol. Thanks again!
FWIW don't expect the desktop version to get any meaningful updates. I've been using this software for more than 20 years and it's painfully obvious that the software designers have never owned a business or used their own software. Why else would you neglect to add the ability to apply downloaded expenses to a job without extra steps. In fact they have even't added the ability to charge payroll labor to jobs to their online platform! Hope I'm wrong on this one as the job column would be a great timesaver.
I am also begging for the job column to be added! It appears others have been pleading for this request for at least the last 2 years and yet Quickbooks has done nothing but promise to pass along the feedback. How hard can it be to make one small update? Quickbooks is going to start losing customers if they keep ignoring their customer's requests.
I am enjoying being able to now add Customer/Project in the bank feed! However, this field is not showing up with an account that is manually uploaded every month. I'm wondering how to add project/customer in this scenario? ***UPDATE*** Just realized the account was not type = Bank or Credit Card. Once I changed it to Credit Card, the Customer/Project field appeared.
Another helpful idea would be to add Customer/Project to the Accountant's Toolbox - Reclassify Transactions!
Morning,
I looked at how my credit card is set up and it is credit card so how do you get the customer/job option to come up?? I can download the transactions and go into that expense and manually add the job info but that seems like a lot of duplicate work.
Thanks
Hello there, @blockheadnc.
We appreciate your time posting in the Community. Let's sort things out together.
The option to add job costing to your downloaded bank transactions is only available for expenses and all money out entries
Also, make sure to turn on the billable expense option on your Account and Settings. Let me show you how:
Please feel free to read this article for more details: Enter billable expenses.
Just leave a comment if you have further questions. Have a great weekend!
Again Intuit employees fail to recognize that we are using a desktop version of Quickbooks. You refer to the solution of clicking the gear and blah blah blah (you are referring to the online version).
I am now using the most recent version of Quickbooks Desktop Pro (2022) with an annual subscription - you still fail to give us the option of adding expenses to jobs via the bank feeds screen - SIMPLE to do but after years of having you customers ask you for this as it is a NECESSARY function you still don't add it to the desktop version. But now you charge us annually for the privilege of having you ignore us. The problem with the ADD MORE DETAILS is that if you click it after you have made changes to other line items (account or payee name) it wipes out all of the previous changes made. I sometimes need to add more details to 20 or 30 items and frankly it would be faster just going to the account register and manually adding them that way.
WHY hasn't this been resolved yet??? We have QBDT Enterprise for Contractors 2023 and this still isn't an option. We use credit cards for purchases for jobs; one of them alone has 17 pages of transactions per month.
Thanks for joining this thread, Aholden18.
I can see how having the Jobs field in the bank feed would be useful in your QuickBooks Desktop account. In this instance, I recommend submitting feedback to the Product Development Team. This can be done directly through your QBDT account by clicking the Help tab and then Product Suggestion > Send Feedback Online.
With more requests and information received on this matter you're more likely to see the addition of the feature and sooner. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns.
Dec 2023 - Is this resolved, or is there no plan to resolve it?
Thanks for joining the thread, @Anynomous.
At the moment, the option to add job fields in the bank feed is still unavailable in QuickBooks. Please know that added features in the program will vary on the number of requests received by our developers.
I suggest sending your suggestions to our developers for review and potential inclusion in future updates. The more requests they receive, the greater the chance they'll be implemented in upcoming releases.
If you're using QuickBooks Online, here's how to send feedback:
Your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QBO. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, follow these steps to send your suggestions:
In the meantime, you can manually create your transactions in QuickBooks and associate them with a specific job. Once completed, you can match the downloaded bank transactions with your existing ones. You can find more detailed information on how to track jobs in the program in the following articles:
