How can I put a job address on an invoice?

I'd be delighted to guide you in adding your job address to an invoice, @earthworkswp-msn.

You can add a job's address to your customer's profile. This way, it'll automatically display when you create an invoice. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Choose the Customer tab.
  3. Click the New Customer button.
  4. Enter Job details.
  5. Make sure to mark the Is sub-customer tickbox.
  6. Select Bill with parent option from the drop-down.
  7. Pick the name of the Customer.
  8. Type in the job's address in the Shipping Address section.
  9. Click the Save button.

The other way is to directly add the job's address in the Ship-To field when creating the invoice. Here's how:

  1. Click the Plus icon.
  2. Under Customers, select Invoice.
  3. Enter the customer's name.
  4. In the Billing address section, enter the customer's address.
  5. Enter the details of the invoice.
  6. Click Save.

Lastly, you can add a custom field and allocate it for the Job Address. You can read through this article for more detailed information: Create and edit custom fields in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Let me sort things out for you, @earthworkswp-msn.

I want to make sure you're able to add the job address to the invoice. It would be of great help if you can add some more details of what labels are you referring to.

In the meantime, let's perform some steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed pages, thus causing some unusual responses. Let's log in to your account using a private browser.

Here's how:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

Once logged in, try to change the address in your Intuit account. If it works, go back to your default browser and clear its cache and cookies to refresh the system. If the issue persists, I'd recommend using other supported browsers in accessing the tab.

I've also added this article that can guide you on how to personalize your sales forms in QuickBooks Online: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have other QuickBooks concerns. I'm always here to help you. Have a great day.

This is referencing the above subject of adding a job address. QBO does not allow you to change the name of the  "Ship to" label. It is not editable like your directions state in the previous responses.

QBO does not allow you to change the label description for the "Ship To" label. You stated in your above response that I could edit this label but when I followed your directions it doesn't have the option to change this.

How can I put a job address on an invoice?

Good Evening, @earthworksswp-msn.

Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. This isn't the impression I want to leave you with. I can see how frustrating this can be when trying to run a business. However, I've got your covered.

If you've tried all the steps my colleague provided above, then I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll be able to walk you through some additional steps on how to resolve this problem with the "Ship To" label.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Press the Contact Us button.
  3. Give a brief description of your issue and click Let's Talk
  4. Scroll down and choose to Get a callback

If you're directed to a QB Assistant page after hitting the Help icon, give a brief description there. In the end, you can always type in Request a Callback to speak with a human.

You can also check out our tutorials page for more details about features in your account.

This problem should be fixed in no time after getting in touch with our support. Let me know how it goes. I value you and the success of your business. I'll always be around to help. Take care!
