Join nowI don't need link on how to customize my invoice, sale, etc. I already know how to do that, if I didn't my question would have been completely different. I even know that I can go select the gear to deselect shipping but obviously that didn't work since it's still an issue. This is a bug that your team still does not acknowledge as one. How many complaints will it take for you guys to finally accept this is an actual bug in the program coding.
I have already sent my suggestion to switch me back to the older version.
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to switch functionality without understanding how customers use the software. The new in voice is a hot mess and not working. I need to customize the dates - GONE. I need be able to group by service - GONE. To use this POS I would have to manually select hundreds of time entries to add to the invoice. The old layout - GONE
Is this for real? Why would you let developers determine the functionality? Why would anyone allow their customers to be their QA testers?
What *exactly* do I have to pay the greedy QB overlords to get this functionality back?
OH yeah another cut-and-paste response. thank you so much
The most baffling part of this is that Intuit went to the trouble of creating this forum, they actually get very specific feedback from users but then they just use bots to respond with cut and paste replies. What is the point of doing this? It seems like their solution is just to give us a place to scream into the void. This brand of dystopian capitalism remains undefeated.
This new invoicing situation is ridiculous. People on this chat have been complaining for months and still no resolution. I won't be sticking around waiting for a resolution. What doesn't Quickbooks think their customers only invoice once ever 6 months. What a joke. What used to be a great accounting system, now is just a lost cause.
It
As I was reading through all the comments and the "auto-generated" responses from the QB team it became abundantly apparent that the developers and the customer service and completely disconnected. It would not surprise me if they were on different continents. To advise your customers to use the “Feedback” function to allow the developers to see that there is a problem is nonsensical. So…. I took it upon myself to cut-and-paste every comment in this forum into the feedback box. If it was a really good comment I’d send it 10 -15 times While I have never received feedback from QB I did notice that the old invoice view is back this week. Not sure how long it will say but I did send several hundred feedback messages.
The new layouts for estimates and invoicing is so bad and does not work at all for our business. I am unable to go back. I have been using QB and QBO for 25 years and will be contacting our accountant for different program. These changes were unnecessary and sadly bad for their business as well as ours.
I received information today from the digital assistant telling mt how to get back to my old invoice template, which didn't work - there was no button for switching back to my old template. I called back and talked to a live representative who told me that I could send my complaint to the digital assistant and the Engineering Department would work on it. I need the solution today, not six months from now.
Problem is, they are doing away with the "old" layout and FORCING everyone to the "new" layout. There is no going back, despite what some Intuit/ QB employees are saying. THAT'S why there was no button to go back to the old.
Good luck.
It seems you've come to the same realization so many of us here have! The quickest solution will be moving away from Quickbooks and Intuit altogether.
There are cheaper, better software options out there now. Too bad Quickbooks couldn't just leave well enough alone.
I'm done with the constant instability, poorly implemented changes, and "improvements" that were thought up by some programmer who's never actually done accounting.
Every day is like playing Whack-a-Mole to figure out what Quickbooks has screwed up today.
I'm very much aware of how much hassle it is to convert to a different accounting system. That's what has kept me hanging on this long, but the time has come. I have three clients that all use QB and will be moving all of them to something more stable.
Same. I don’t have the old layout button
Same issue. I don’t have the button to go back
(QBO), Jam.
We've launched a new invoice experience to simplify the process of generating, delivering, and managing custom invoices. It comes with new capabilities and increased availability since June. However, some classic invoice features are currently unavailable, such as no switching back to an old-style layout. If you want to add some features from the old layout to be incorporated into the new layout, I suggest sending your feedback to our software engineers. They may consider adding them in future product updates. Here's how:

This is what is completely baffling. QB has been developing their product for years. The “old” layout was developed over this time with customer input for features and functionality. Why in the world would those customers suddenly no longer need that functionality? We bought into the QB world because of the functionality and now you’ve pulled the rug out. Why would you start all over? It is completely backwards.
