how to have multiple shipping accounts

I forget if there is a way to have multiple shipping accounts and can't recall how the mapping works with shipping. My client has the following:

1. Retail sales through Shopify

- retail sales

- retail shipping (I can manually map this to a separate account. it comes in through an integration tool)

2. Wholesale sales through Shopify (don't ask...this is a crazy magic)

- wholesale sales (shopify)

- wholesale shipping (shopify). this is mapped fine.

3. Wholesale sales through Quickbooks (done as an invoice)

- wholesale discounts (

- wholesale shipping (currently somehow mapped to retail sales?) **this is what I'd like to appear as wholesale shipping.

(see attached for the corresponding COA's for these accounts)

how to have multiple shipping accounts

I understand the importance of using multiple shipping accounts, Stephanie.

As of now, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, let's turn on the Shipping feature. There, we can add the account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select  Account and Settings

  2. On the Sales form content section, select the Sales tab.
  3. Toggle the Shipping button to turn it on, then click Save.

  4. After that, go to the Advanced option.
  5. Select Chart of accounts, then choose the Wholesales shipping account.
  6. Click Save, then Done.
    Capture1.PNG

In the future, all shipping charges will be added to the Wholesale shipping account. Meanwhile, I suggest updating the item linked to the invoices to be associated with the Wholesales Discount account.

Alternatively, you can look for a third-party app you can integrate with the program that allows you to use multiple shipping accounts.

I also recommend sending feedback directly to our Product Development team. Doing so helps us provide feature enhancements to improve your experience and the program's functionalities.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.
    Capture (1).PNG

Moreover, it is recommended to categorize and match all transactions on the For review page. It'll ensure the record is accurate.

Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance managing your sales transactions and Chart of Accounts. We're always here to help you out.
