I added a new bank account to Chart of Accounts. How do I add it to show up in Banking?

I’m glad to see you in the Community, tiffanysquareden.

The online banking feature allows you to automatically fetch new bank data as wells as categorize them easily. Let’s go to the Banking page to link the new account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

  1. Press the Banking or Transactions menu on the left panel and select Banking.
  2. This action will take you to the Automate income and expense tracking screen.
  3. From there, click the Connect account menu or Link an account button in the upper right.olb.png
  4. On the Connect an account page, enter your Financial Institution in the search box and click the emblem to access your bank’s website.
  5. Then enter your login credentials and password in the field boxes.olb.1.png
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.
  7. Choose the specific account you wish to connect.
  8. Press the Account Type drop-down and pick the matching category type from your chart of accounts in QBO.
  9. Set the date range you want to download the entries and tap the Connect button.

For more insights into this process, this reference will guide you on how to download recent transactions, categorize them, and update the bank feeds: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, this article provides information on how to classify your downloaded data, match it to the existing one in QBO, and exclude personal or duplicate entries: Categorize and match online bank transactions.

Reach out to me again if you have other banking concerns or questions about linking an account in QBO. I’ll pop right back in to assist further. Enjoy your weekend.
