I am trying to cancel my account but QB just goes blank when I push on that option, yet it will allow me to make other changes. Anyone know a remedy? QB isn't helping

Let me help you get rid of the blank page, @andy63.

 

Cache can sometimes cause issues when trying to do certain tasks on QuickBooks. We'll have to perform basic troubleshooting steps. Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks Online through a private browser. This a special mode that doesn't leave browsing history. Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer)
  • Control + Option + P (Safari)

 

If the option is responsive, then let's go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Also, you can try using a different supported browser. This way, you can check whether this has something to do with your browser.

 

Once done, you will receive an email confirmation for the cancellation of your online subscription.

 

If you wish to re-subscribe, you can go back to the Billing & Subscription page and click the Resubscribe button. Your data will be available in a read-only access for one year from the cancellation date. 

 

You'll need to consider printing your reports you might need in the future.

I have cleared cache on my usual browser and it still won't let me cancel. I have also signed in with a browser I hardly use, cleared that cache, and still the system is not letting me cancel. It will let me do all the other functions like upgrade, downgrade, view payment history, etc, but it will not let me cancel.

I posted I response and don't see it popping up in the feed, doing this message as a test to see if this does.

The security of your account is our top priority here in the Community. Reviewing your information requires pulling it up in a safe environment. With this, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support team. They can determine the reason you're unable to cancel your account and walk you through in completing it.

DO NOT make me pay for anything beyond my reaching out to you for cancelation. I can not be penalized for the lack in response to your system

 

I have tried going through those steps for QB to contact me and my only way was to make this post. You can have them call me or find a way to cancel this on your end. I will fight through my bank if I am not prorated back the remainder of this month's subscription and am charged again

I have been trying to cancel my account for over a week. I call and get nothing but robots not connecting me to a person to speak with. I try doing it on my account and there is nothing to allow me to do it. This is extremely frustrating and my next move will be to call credit card company and have them stop allowing the payments to process. I expect an immediate response and cancellation of my account after this post.

This is not what we want you to experience, Aggs.

 

When contacting our Customer Care Team, you should be able to get the Get a callback option. From here, you'll be able to create a request. Then, a representative will call you to assist you with your concern. I'll share some steps on how to reach them based on the interface you have in QuickBooks Online:

  1. Click Help in the upper-right corner and select Contact Us.
  2. Enter the details of your concern and click Let's talk.
  3. Select how you want to reach them.
  4. Enter the necessary information to complete your request.

Or

  1. Click Help in the upper-right corner and type Talk to a human.
  2. Type I still need a human and another options will appear.
  3. Type those phrases repeatedly until you get this response:
    OK. Here’s a shortcut to connect with my humans.
  4. Click the Contact us link and select how you want to reach them.
  5. Enter the necessary details to complete your request.

While waiting for someone to call you, we can do a few troubleshooting steps that might help you cancel the subscription. Cache helps your browser's background processes run smoothly. However, it can also cause issues when piled up. Here's how to get rid of any-cache related concerns:

  1. Open a private browser and log in to your QBO account. It uses but doesn't store cache.
  2. If you can cancel your subscription successfully, we can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache.
  3. Other supported browsers are good alternatives, too. Each of them uses a different cache.
