Hey there, @totalsecurellc.
Can you share with me the exact error code that you’re getting? This information will help me narrow things down and provide an accurate resolution to your concern.
Meanwhile, let's perform basic troubleshooting steps to check why you're getting an error message. We can start by accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. A typical browser uses a cache of memory to run efficiently and load pages faster. However, as data collects, it can also cause unusual behaviors.
You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
If you're able to add products to an invoice, then I suggest going back to your regular browser and clear its cache.
Otherwise, you can switch to another browser if the same thing happens. This way, you can check whether this has something to do with your browser.
Once done, you can refer to this article about managing customer payments: Record invoice payments.

The issue is within the Quickbooks online accounting app. Whenever I create an invoice and try to add a product, it says "error adding item". It shows all my products but won't let me add any. This just started happening yesterday and only happens on my phone but not my tablet. I have deleted the app and reinstalled and still have the same issue.
I appreciate you for providing additional information about the error message you've encountered when adding a product to your invoices using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app, totalsecurellc. With this, I can guide you on what actions you need to take care of this.
Currently, there isn't any reported issue about the error when adding items to your invoices using QBO mobile app. Since you've already performed some troubleshooting steps to resolve it and still the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support team. They can initiate a product investigation to further check the cause of this matter.
Here's how to request a callback from our support:
I've attached a screenshot for your reference.
In the meantime, you can access your QBO company using any supported browser on your phone. From there, you can add the items in your invoices and process them accordingly.
Through your invoices, you can check what items are on hand and on order. Just hover your pointer over the quantity you entered for an item to see further details. You can learn more about it by checking out the Check what’s on hand and what’s on order as you work section in this article: Set up and track your inventory in QuickBooks Online.
You can also customize your invoices to add information that matters to your business. QBO has the tool to let you create attractive and professional-looking invoices. To know how, kindly refer to this article: Customize invoices in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
I'm having the same problem. In the past uninstalling and reinstalling the app had solved the problem, but the problem has reoccurred and that no longer works.
Have you received any resolution for this problem?
I have reported this issue as well and your team doesn't seem to know what i'm taking about
