I have some information about editing transaction forms. In QuickBooks when you change a template, it'll also affect the rest of the existing templates. QuickBooks Online allows you to upload invoice templates made from scratch using Microsoft Word, this is known as the 'Import Styles' feature. You'll just need to enable the import style option in QuickBooks Labs.
Here's how:
After turning the feature on, you can now import your own form styles for invoices into QBO. Need more details? Check out this guide: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.
If you need help with other QBO tasks, click this link to go to our general topic with articles.
Feel welcome to message me anytime for questions or concerns about the program. I'm always here for you. Take care and have a wonderful rest of the week.
ok I did that. I get this error when trying to upload my invoice.
" PDF.js v1.5.456 (build: 4d15928)
Message: stream must have data"
All the EZ Map fields work except <invoiceno>
__________
Also, I now understand I am limited to one single template at one time.
I'm here to help you fix the error, User97606.
Let's ensure to map the fields correctly by adding it with opening and closing angle brackets "<" and ">".
However, if you're still encountering the same error even the fields are correct, you might be experiencing browser issues. We'll have to perform the basic troubleshooting. Let's start by opening the program using an incognito window. It's the best place to isolate browser hiccups. Here are the shortcut keys:
If you're able to import the template, you can go back to the main browser, then clear the cache to refresh it. It's advisable to delete them periodically to prevent and fix issues like this.
Moreover, you can use a different browser to help us narrow the cause of this behavior.
You can keep us updated after trying the steps. We're right here to help you out. Take care!
I am using the EZ Mapps chart and the only key that does not want to work is <invoiceno>.
The error comes while using the desktop app for quickbooks online.
In Chrome (cleared chache), incognito mode, and Firefox browser, I left off the <invoiceno> tag and got a perfect check, however nothing is displayed in the preview pane. I can save and it seems to save but opens a blank frame when I click preview.
