@Mpastaman

You were trying to import *.qbo files from your bank, correct? Can you download *.csv files from your bank?

Import bank transactions from Excel to QuickBooks

This is not the experience we want you to have, @Mpastaman. I see the importance and urgency of resolving this issue so you can successfully upload your Web Connect file. Let me offer some help on how to fix this.

Since you've received a specific error message that states QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) doesn't support this account type, I encourage you to contact your bank's customer care team. At the same time, get your bank feed logs since this can help identify the cause of this message you've received.

Afterward, contact your bank and ask to speak to someone knowledgeable about QuickBooks bank feeds. This way, they can help you set up and correct the account types from your file. At the same time, for a more thorough investigate about this concern, you can request them to file a case using Open Financial Exchange, and please keep the case number handy.

For reference and additional information, please refer to this article: Fix Web Connect import errors.

Moreover, if your bank offers a CSV file, you can use it as an alternative to the Web Connect file you're uploading.

Once you've uploaded your bank transaction to QBDT, you need to match these entries to the details from your company file. You can check this article: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to reply to this post if you have other questions about uploading web connect files in QBDT. I'll make sure to assist you anytime.

Discover does not work with web connect.  Options are to download transactions as PDF, Excel, or CSV.  This just downloads to a file on my computer.  How do I get them into QB Pro Plus 2023?

Thanks for getting involved with this thread, JFCross.

If you're working with a CSV file to upload transaction data, you'll initially need to install the QuickBooks Import Except and CSV toolkit.

This toolkit contains:

  • CSV Examples Folder – 4 sample CSV files, one for each type of list.
  • XLS Example Folder – A sample Excel file containing 4 worksheets, one for each type of list.
  • Allowed fields – A reference guide explaining what fields are available for Excel and CSV import.
  • Import from Excel and CSV Manual – A PDF document with instructions, best practices, and notes.

Here's how to install it:

  1. Download a copy of the toolkit.
  2. Save your file to the Windows Desktop location, then hit Save.
  3. Double-click QuickBooks_Import_Excel_and_CSV.exe file in your Desktop folder to open the WinZip Self-Extractor window.
  4. Click Browse and choose a folder where you want to install your toolkit (such as the Desktop folder), then press OK.
  5. Hit Unzip to extract the contents.
  6. Select Close to close your WinZip Self-Extractor.
  7. Open the QuickBooks Import Excel and CSV folder from the location you selected in step 4.

Once you've installed your QuickBooks Import Excel and CSV toolkit, you'll be able to begin importing CSV files. Be sure to review the Import from Excel and CSV Manual if necessary, as this has instructions for importing CSV files.

In the event you're working with an Excel file, you can refer to the steps in our Import or export MS Excel files article.

I've also included a detailed resource about importing data which may come in handy moving forward: Import & export data

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Thank you.  How do I create a .QBO file?  I am told that is the QB Online version.  I have QB Desktop.

Use the converter tool as I mentioned earlier. You will be able to convert *.csv to *.qbo.
