There are a few reasons why your QuickBooks won't open:
- Long company name.
- Damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
- There's a corruption on your hard drive.
- There's a damage of your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation.
- You may have a damaged Windows operating system.
To fix it, you need to download QuickBooks Tool Hub and run a Quick Fix Utility. Here's how:
- Make sure QuickBooks is close.
- Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
- Open the file you download (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
- When it's done, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
When your QuickBooks Tool Hub is already open, you can run the Quick Fix to repair the program.
- In the Tool Hub, choose Program Problems.
- Select Quick Fix my Program.
- Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data.
You can also use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Toolto resolve possible installation file damage. Here's how:
- In the Tool Hub, choose Installation Issues.
- Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool, this would take up 20 minutes.
- When it finishes, restart your computer.
- Open your QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.
