How do I see the mileage I have been tracking in the financial reports? My client has been tracking for a year and I do not see anything on the P&L or the Balance Sheet.
I can help with this, @IAWTFC.
This mileage information will not be found on the P&L or the Balance Sheet. In QuickBooks Online, the mileage report can be pulled up by clicking on the Download Trip button from the Trips page. This will open a report in an Excel file that shows all the trips that you've entered.
To do that, just open the trips page and press on Download Trips. Please see the screenshot attached for your reference:

What is the point of tracking mileage if it can't then be recorded onto your Financial Statements?
I would really appreciate a response. I want to understand why you can track, download, and for tax purposes, but not for recording on an accrual basis and for tracking client profitability on your income statement and true bottom line net income.

I have submitted a LOT of feedback. I feel like a broken record.
So just to be clear, QB can track personal and business mileage, and by default, vehicle expenses are on the P&L, but should I choose to use mileage as a deduction (instead of vehicle expenses), I must
1. manually delete the vehicle expenses
2. manually enter the mileage as a Journal entry?

I'm here to provide information about the Mileage feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
The mileage tracking feature in QuickBooks Online is for recording purposes since mileage is not an expense in accounting. It is a tax time deduction you can take when you don't take the actual expenditures operating a company vehicle.
The Profit and Loss report won't show unless you manually track the mileage. You can reference this article for the detailed steps: Track mileage and vehicle expenses in QuickBooks Online. If you want your mileage entered automatically, ensure to setup mileage tracking and vehicles in QuickBooks Online.

You can also consult an accountant for expert advice if you want to track mileage using Journal Entry.
