I've got the steps on how to correct the phone information that you have saved in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to be called or texted.
You can change it by utilizing the Gear icon and then go to Account and Settings to update your contact information in the Company settings.
Here's how:
However, if you wanted to update your contact number in your Intuit account, you can follow the steps below:
This way, you'll get a call and text again with your new phone number.
I'll add this article as your reference on how to update company information: Change your business name, contact info, or EIN in QuickBooks Online.
In case you need help in updating your account set up, data and security, reference these pages as your guide:

Hello,
My Ex business partner set up this account and put his address in the owner's information and his cell phone which has been disconnected and can not be called or texted. He also has his name on the account. I own 100% of the business and do not want any part of my business to have his name or information on it.
I'm having the same issue. The issue isn't with the Company Info, it's with the Business Owner Info under the "Payments" tab of Account & Settings. My issue is that the Business Owner's "Mobile Phone Number" is off by one digit and that number does not exist; therefore, I cannot get a call or text to that phone number. My personal Intuit Account Manager info is correct, and I have already faxed the "Address/Phone/Fax/Email Change Request Form" but that is only good for the company information, again, not the Business Owner Info. I need to update the Business Owner Info in order to update the Bank Account (which sends a confirmation call/text to a non-existent phone number).
Hello there, @Tiffany O.
I'm here to ensure you're able to change the phone number information. You'll have to log in to the QuickBooks Payments account to update it. Let me show you how.
Here’s how:

Let me know if you have any follow-ups or other questions. I'm always here to help.
I can't update the phone number that way because the phone number is incorrect to receive my "Get Confirmation Code." In order for me to update my account, the only option to confirm my identity is via a phone call or text, neither of which will work because that phone number is non-existent.
I appreciate you getting back to us about this, @Tiffany O,
If you want to update the verification phone number to access your QBO account, but can't access the Accounts Management page, I recommend contacting us directly. Our representatives can assist you with updating your business information to successfully get past the multi-factor authentication.
Here's how to contact us:
Please let me know how the call goes. I want to make sure you're taken care of, and this issue is resolved. I'm also here if you need anything else with QuickBooks. Have a good day!
This does not work. I need to get a call back on my cell phone.
Welcome to the Community, pauljay.
If you're unable to complete the steps for updating your phone information, you can contact our Customer Care Team for assistance. My colleague, Jen_D, provided detailed steps for how to request a callback. Upon reaching step four in our process, make sure to select Get a call.
If there's anything else I can help with, please feel more than welcome to reach out anytime. Have a wonderful day!
Have you figured this out at all? I am having the same problem.
Have you figured this out at all? I am having the same problem as you're describing. Appreciate any help (because despite 3 calls to quickbooks they can't resolve it).
Thanks for joining this thread, jferrari427.
You have an option to update the details if you can log in to the account. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings. From the Company menu, update the info and select Save and Done to finish.
Also, you'll want to visit your Intuit Account to keep your account information up to date such as your User ID, email, password. Once you logged in, click the blue button next to the Gear icon and select Manage your Intuit Account. You can also simply go to accounts.intuit.com.
I understand that you already contacted our Support Team. However, they are the ones who can update it if you're unable to do it on your end.
I've added some links you can check. These will help you on how to keep the business information updated.
Post again here if you have other concerns. We'll respond as soon as we can.
Hello,
I’ve tried this and it does not work because quickbooks requires 2 factor authentication. The 2 factor authentication is trying to send to an old number that I no longer use (therefore I can no longer update my bank account information in quickbooks.) Any ideas here? Thanks.
John
Exact same problem!
I've been trying to get this fixed for YEARS! Every few months I'll have the courage to call - again.
About 45 minutes in, after speaking to multiple customer service reps, I'll get someone that finally trust that I'm not dumb and doing it wrong. They will forward me to merchant services, and they claim that in order to verify the account for a phone number change, a mailed postcard or email will be sent to verify. I write down the number of the support ticket and patiently wait.
Weeks go by.
I call up customer service to check in on my support ticket. The new rep will say there is not enough information on the ticket, and will need to start a new one. I explain my situation, they tell me it can be reset in account settings - "just go to your qbo account and click the gear icon"...I hang up the phone.
3 to 4 months go by and I get the courage to call customer support again. And here I am - searching google and finding this thread. Saddened by the reality that nobody at quickbooks customer support has the authority or power to rectify this situation. Otherwise there should be a person or two on here posting "it worked, thank you!"
Good luck!
I am having the same issue. We have changed over to a VOIP telephone system and I am not getting the phone call for the 2 part verification. I can not sign into the account because I am not getting the 2 part verification. I get the email with a code the code but then it still wants to send the 2nd part to my phone and I don't get it and I don't have a cell phone tied to the account to get a text. And I am still waiting for the phone call from them I was supposed to get 2 hours ago.
This is not the service we want you to experience. This is something Intuit doesn't want you to come across in your future interactions, CityofPurdy.
The waiting time may vary depending on the number of calls or chats. Rest assured that as soon as there's an available person, they will call you back. To ensure that you'll be assisted on time, please see our support hours.
I can see that this needs further verification, I'd recommend contacting our Customer support tea, again. They have the tools to check further about the account.
Here how:

I just got it figured out!!
I was able to change the cell number after going into the Sign In & Security - it pulled up the landline (auto attendant, so no go, and old cell) BUT above that, it gives me the option to change it and poof - I got a text, and it's all done!
Please change my phone number
