On invoices, can I subtotal subtotals? I used to in Desktop but I don't remember how it was set up. Is this possible in QBO?

When you add subtotal line items to your invoice in QBO, the system automatically calculates the sum of all the subtotals at the bottom of the invoice.

However, if you are asking about the ability to add a subtotal of subtotals within the body of the invoice, this feature is currently not supported in QBO.

You make that claim and then proceed to not show how to do it (likely because it's not actually possible with weak, feeble, QB Online.).  Do you understand what the OP is asking about?

Here's an example of what they want to do, which is child's play for QuickBooks Desktop:

I need the subtotals of the subtotals in the actual body of the invoice.  I am not referring to the subtotal at the bottom of the invoice. 

I know that having the subtotals in the actual body of the invoice is significant for you, Suzanne.

When processing invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), the subtotal can only seen at the bottom part of your invoice. Moreover, the ability to indicate the subtotals to the center or the body of the invoice is unavailable.

I can see that achieving this process would be a great addition to the program. With this, I encourage sending feature requests to our product developers outlining this suggestion. They're genuinely interested in hearing your input and highly encourage you to send your suggestions.
