Hello there, @ AmyS.
Thanks for visiting the Community! I'm here to share some details about the information you need in the Profit and Loss by Class report.
All of the Profit and Loss Reports in QuickBooks give you a summary of how your business is operating. Once you choose to run and customize the P&L by Class, it'll automatically include all of its subclasses.
Currently, the option to customize the report to only show the parent class is unavailable. As a workaround, you'll want to export it to excel and manually remove the subclasses.
Here's how:
- Go to Reports in the left panel.
- Scroll down to the Business Overview section, select Profit and Loss by Class.
- In the Report Period field, choose the dates you need.
Click the Export icon and select Export to Excel.
You can open the exported file in your browser's downloaded page. From there, manually remove all the classes except for the Total [name of Class] column.
I've also attached the following article for other ways to customize the report, as well as saving or sharing them:
If there's anything else that you need help with, don't hesitate to post back here in the Community. Have a great day!
