I am trying to figure out how to run a profit and loss by class that only shows the parent classes. I know this feature is available in the desktop version, but I cannot figure out how to run this report in QB Online.

Thanks for visiting the Community! I'm here to share some details about the information you need in the Profit and Loss by Class report.
All of the Profit and Loss Reports in QuickBooks give you a summary of how your business is operating. Once you choose to run and customize the P&L by Class, it'll automatically include all of its subclasses.
Currently, the option to customize the report to only show the parent class is unavailable. As a workaround, you'll want to export it to excel and manually remove the subclasses.
Here's how:
Click the Export icon and select Export to Excel.
You can open the exported file in your browser's downloaded page. From there, manually remove all the classes except for the Total [name of Class] column.
