Quickbooks desktop statement customization

Is there a way to modify what details show when selecting "Show invoice item details on statements"? I would like to show, for instance, the detail on a finance charge so that the associated invoice for which the charge was assessed shows, but the individual line items from a regular invoice do not.

Quickbooks desktop statement customization

Hello, and welcome to the Community, michelleanne555.

Statements are a summary of your customer's account which lists their recent invoices. Currently, there isn't a way to modify what details show when you turn the Show invoice item details on statements option on.

To show your client the information you'd like them to see, you might want to generate a Sales by Item Detail report. Here's how:
1. In the menu bar at the top, go to Reports, then Report Center.
2. Enter Sales by Item Detail in the search field.
3. Find the report from the results and hit run.
4. Set your desired date range.
5. Click on Customer Report, then open the Filters tab.
6. Choose Name in the filter list.
7. Use the drop-down menu next to All names to elect the customer you want to produce the document for.
8. Pick Paid Status from the filter list and choose Open.9. Select Ok.

Now you'll have a copy of a report that shows the detail of your customer's finance charge. Individual line items shouldn't display on this document.

You can find further information about customizable reports in the following article: Customize customer, job, & sales reports

I'll be here to help if you have any other questions. Enjoy the rest of your day!
