1099 Summary Report Custom Dates

I am using Desktop 2019 Contractors.

I have been using the 1099 summary report for my subs reports for my insurance audits for 10 years or more....until today!  My audit dates cross years (12/19 thru 12/20) and with the change in 2020 to the new 1099 NEC, the 1099 summary report will not let me customize the report dates to a date prior to 2020.  I memorize the report for each audit and I tried pulling up an old memorized report to change the dates and it won't let me do it that way either.  Does anyone have a work-around for the date issue on the 1099 summary report?  I have other ways I can create a report with the info I need, but it is somewhat time consuming and the 1099 summary report would be the easiest if anyone can figure out a way around the 2019 date.  TIA!

1099 Summary Report Custom Dates

Thanks for the reply, but I have done all that.  Actually, I had to in order to process and print 1099's last week.

When you go to reports/vendor/1099 summary and the report comes up, the dates are pre-populated with last calendar year of 01/01/20 to 12/31/20.  When I try to change to custom dates of 12/21/19 to 12/21/20, an error message pops up stating the 1099 forms were modified in 2020 and QB only supports date range starting from Jan 1, 2020, and then the dates default back to 01/01/20 to 12/31/20.  This is for both the 1099 Misc & NEC.

In fact, I can no longer run any 1099 reports for any time periods prior to 1/1/20.  I guess it's a good thing I printed hard copies of all my prior year reports since they are lost forever in QB!  For my audit next week I worked around it by manually creating an excel report for any payment activity 12/21/19-12/31/19 and added those totals to my 1099 summary for 1/1/20-12/21/20.  Not ideal, but it works for now and luckily was only 10 days I had to go through.  What will suck going forward is not being able to compare prior years in QB, but having to dig out hard copies, and hoping they don't get destroyed or filed or lost.

1099 Summary Report Custom Dates

Go to "Customize Report" and put in custom dates. That solved the problem for me for NEC settings and specific ins audit dates I was needing. Hope that helps.
