Hello, wiffle113.
I appreciate you taking the time to visit the Community. I want to make sure you're able to print invoices.
As an initial troubleshooting step, I recommend clearing the cache in the internet browser. When the cache is full, it can potentially cause performance errors in QuickBooks Online. Resetting it will allow you to start fresh and resolve issues, such as not being able to print.
This article will walk you through the steps of this process depending upon which browser you're using: Clear cache and cookies
If you're still unable to print, this issue may be related to a known issue. The engineers have been made aware and are quickly working to get it fixed. I suggest calling in to speak with a member of the Support Team. An agent will be able to add you to the list of affected users, and you'll then receive email notifications regarding the resolution. The number to speak with an agent is 1-800-488-7330. The most up-to-date contact information can be found here: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact. You may also mention this could be connected to investigation #16330.
You'll be back up and running soon. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know how things look after trying this out. I'll help in any way that I can.
All of a sudden I cannot print or email an invoice within QB 2019 Desktop. I am also unable to save a pdf copy of the invoice as well.
Any further thoughts?
Tamara
Hello there, @tlrod.
I've checked our records here and found out an open investigation (INV-47379) about this issue. Rest assured, this has already been raised to our banking engineers to know the root cause of this unexpected behavior.
For now, I suggest reaching our Customer Support Team so they can add your contact details to the list of our affected users.
Here's how:
Please check our support hours to ensure that we address your concerns on time: Support hours and types.

I am all of a sudden in the same predicament. I will follow your guideline of having us listed as an affected user but need to know when this can be remedied as the business cannot function if we cannot bill for work performed. This is a real issue!
I can see that this is affecting your business, allweldmf.
Thank you for your cooperation by contacting our Support team.
As I've checked, our engineers have not indicated a timeframe because we've received reports that an OS update last week (6/9/2020) was affecting the ability to print documents on some printers. This is what we are checking further because if there's an issue with the OS, the turnaround time will depend on the OS provider.
We're closely monitoring this case, so we can immediately send updates to the affected users. We're aware that printing and emailing documents are very important to our clients. Momentarily, you can try other options like giving written receipts to your customers.
Thank you for your understanding. We're just a comment away should you have additional questions about this.
Interesting!
Here's the thing thou, I was fine printing and emailing invoices after said update until yesterday. In fact, I can print reports and other items from Quickbooks and other programs just fine. The discrepancy only happens when I try to print an invoice. It hesitates in the spooling phase and freezes Quickbooks to the point that I can only close the program thru Task Manager. Seems oddly specific.
Thank youi.
I have not been able to print invoices this week. Does QB know which users are affected? How can I be sure to get the update when it's available? *My printer: HP Laser Jet 1536dnf MFP*
BTW, I feel like making invoices by hand is a horrible recommendation. Especially from a software company. I am fortunate enough to have access to another printer in the same building which QB can print to. If you don't have another printer you could use print preview of your invoice, take a screenshot ("Print Screen" button on keyboard), open the "Paint" app and paste it (ctrl+v). After this use the Select tool to select just the area you want to see and press the crop button. After this, just print the image (tutorial link below). Because, your printer isn't busted. Just QB.

Hi @LHcause714,
Thank you for the detailed workaround you provided. I'll point you in the right direction for support with this specific issue.
As my colleague @Maybelle_S mentioned above, we have an ongoing investigation for your concern. If you haven't contacted our Technical Support team yet, please do so. They can add you to the list of our affected users. This way, you'll receive a notification email whenever an update becomes available.
Here's how:
Have a look at this article as well: Batch print forms in QuickBooks Desktop. Follow the steps provided to tag forms to be printed later, then you can have them all queued to print at once.
I'll be around in case you need further assistance. Place a comment below, and I'll get back to you.
We are in the same boat here. Printing froze up last week. We are limping along for a week now without the ability to print invoices, which we rely on daily to send out with our manufactured work. It's beyond frustrating! I called support on Monday and they said to watch my emails in the next day or two for an update on how to fix the issue, but nothing has come through yet. For a company this big, I would think they could find a solution faster than this. THIS IS BAD!!!!
Same.
I replaced my jpeg files with bitmap files in the customize data layout and now I'm able to print again. Hopefully this helps someone else too
Maybe try this:
I spoke with a customer service rep and what she told me to try and do was change my custom template back to a standard intuit template on my invoices. That workaround worked. So while my invoices do not have the proper look at least they have the information.
Maybe try this:
I was having the same problem with invoices. I called customer service and they said to remove my custom templates and use a standard Intuit template. That worked when I used a standard template and got rid of my custom template it printed. My invoices don't look right but at least the information is there.
Good Luck.
CHANGE LOGO FILE TYPE
As LHcause714 suggested, changing my logo from a .jpeg file to a .bmp file worked!! Finally, I can print invoices again. This has been extremely frustrating and I'm disappointed in QB's slow reply.
Above I stated what worked for me, but it may not have been a good description. My invoices are a custom template with a couple pictures including an image of our company logo. These images were .jpeg files. After changing and replacing these files to .bmp type files I was able to print again. Hope this solution may help those who are encountering the same problem. Good luck!
Good day,
New day. new week. Any update to this issue yet? It's a bit daunting to think we may need to hand write these invoices and scan in order to email to our customers so we can have some cashflow to continue operating for work performed. To not be able to email, print or save as a pdf is truly a hinderance. Please advise.
Thank you!
Unbelievable! Can't believe that worked! Thank you LHcause714 for the suggestion of replacing the jpg with a bmp file type.
This fixed the problem with not being able to email invoices. Either remove the JPG file and replace with text, or replaced with BMP file and its emailing again. Thanks for the help!
By the way, quickbooks suggested that I update my Windows 10 since there was an update that had an issue with printer spooling, this did not fix the problem as I tried it first. The issue is the JPG file on the invoice. Remove and/or replace with BMP file and all is good.
2 Weeks into this issue, with no fix from QB, and your suggestion worked for us today! I went into my custom invoice template and changed our logo to a BMP file, and it fixed our problem. What a blessing! Thank you for sharing, and I hope QB can get the answers to all the customers out there that are crippled by this glitch.
After 2 weeks of dealing with backups, installing and reinstalling QB, this is all I needed. Unbelievable that support can not come up with a repair or the simple solution of removing the jpegs, or Pnp’s “ which my logo was “ on the custom templates and switching it out to a bmp. Literally a 2 second fix. Thank you LHcause714. You have saved my sanity.
Can you tell me how to replace the jpg with a bmp file type?
I had the same problem also with not being able to print invoices or even save them as a pdf. After I changed my logo image on the invoice from a jpg to a bmp, it fixed the problem!!!!! Thanks!!
You can open the jpeg file in Paint and save it as a bmp file there.
well you can also forward or send invoices using the PayPal guide on keepthetech to any merchant or customer without having a hassle. For international money transfer, it was the safest option.
