Are your contractors receiving a secure link to view 2021 1099s?

I am using intuit e-file and my contractors have not received the secure link to view their 1099s and Quickbook online support said they are not sending the email link this year. Is this true? This is clearly not what is outlined in the "What Happens Next" in step 3. The files were accepted by the IRS last week. Last year, all contractors received an email with "Your tax forms are ready" in addition to a hard copy. Does anyone know the truth about this or are the emails just delayed?

Hi, userreg.

When you file 1099’s, all contractors with email addresses will receive an invite to access their 1099 forms online. The option to print and mail 1099’s will be available. Depending on which QuickBooks payroll product you are using, you will either have the option to print and mail those yourself, or QuickBooks will do that for you.

Let me share these resources to to get a breakdown of copies that QBO submits and the one you'll have to keep. From there, you'll learn which payroll service supports electronic filing.

I'll be around if there's anything that I can help. Take care!

Are your contractors receiving a secure link to view 2021 1099s?

Hi,

Our tax forms were accepted on 1/21/22 at 10 am, and as of today 1/26/22, our 10-00 contractors and vendors have not received the "Your tax forms are ready" link.  Is there a delay?

Last year, it worked very smoothly.

Let me know.

Thanks for coming back to the Community, userreg.

To start with, you might want to make sure that the contractor's email address is correct. They should be able to receive an email once you've filed form successfully.

However, if you verify that all the email addresses are accurate. It's best to reach out to our Customer Support Team for us to investigate this. They have all the tools needed to see why some of your contractors were unable to view the 1099 form.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and choose the Talk to a human option (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Form 1099."
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us.
  4. Tap Let’s talk then choose either Get a call or Start messaging.

As a workaround, you'll want to print them and provide them to your contractors. Also, you can download their 1099 forms and attach them to the email. Please check these links for the detailed steps:
