this does not actually explain how to export an invoice. this exports a report.
Is there a way to export an actual invoice?
Hi Pure Quality!
Thanks for joining us here. Allow me to help you in exporting an invoice.
You're right, the steps shared by my colleague show you how to export the list of invoices in a form of a report. Although you can print or download an invoice in a PDF file, QuickBooks Online doesn't have an option to export an actual invoice into an Excel file.
Please consider the workaround suggested by one of our Community users, to use a third-party exporter tool. QuickBooks Online supports multiple applications. You can find them by clicking the Apps menu.
As mentioned, QuickBooks Online allows you to export reports as well as lists. You can find additional details here: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.
Do you need to customize your sales forms? We made an article that outlines the steps: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Keep on posting here if you have other concerns in handling your data. I'll be here!
You can utilize an exporter tool as I mentioned earlier.

and you may get the Invoice data with the following template

Hello, I need to export list of all customers overdue invoices in excel. However i could not see export option anywhere on that screen. Could you please help me with that?
Thank you in advance.
Sachin
It's nice to see you in this thread, klibvt.
I'll be happy to guide you in exporting the data you need.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we have the Open Invoices report that you can run. It shows unpaid invoices and statement charges with totals for each customer.
To pull up and export the report, here's what you'll need to do:
To know more about the reports you can run, see this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It contains details on the report features and specific reports to get the info you need.
For additional reference, you can check this article about how you can customize a report in QBO.
That's it! You'll get the info you need, klibvt. Let us know if you have further questions. We're here to help. Take care.
Hi Alex V. Thanks for being so candid and admitting the following: "Although you can print or download an invoice in a PDF file, QuickBooks Online doesn't have an option to export an actual invoice into an Excel file". So, I have an invoice with 367 line items and I need to verify each line item to locate the discrepancy. That's an easy task if just Copy & Paste the rows (line items) into a spreadsheet. What possibly logic went through the minds of your programmers to deliberately PREVENT "export to CSV" and PREVENT "Copy & Paste"?
I hear your sentiments, fhgfj.
I can see how important it is to export the invoice itself. That said, I'll take note of this suggestion and share it with our Developers.
In the meantime, you can download or print an invoice in a PDF file. You can follow the steps shared by my colleague above.

After a lot of searching, I discovered a work around to this iss:
In Quickbooks, go to the form you want to convert/export
Under MAIN tab, across the top, click on SAVE and SAVE AS A PDF
Open the newly created PDF
On the right hand side of the screen, using Adobe Acrobat click on EXPORT PDF. Adobe Acrobat is a subscription based software service. It's $1.99 per month to convert PDF's to Excel
Click on CONVERT
Click on READY
After it’s been converted, open it and rename it, as needed
Now it's in Excel and ready to be edited :)
To create a Google Sheet that you can share with others from the Excel form:
Open and name a new sheet
Go into the Excel sheet and copy all info you want to transfer
Paste into newly created google sheet
Hello community,
I would like to export all invoice with ITEM description. At least the first line.
But characters are limited to a length of 99 in the cell.
How can I get all char from ITEM in CSV or Excel format?
Thank you.
Have you explored the exporter tool as I mentioned in the earlier post?
No, since we do not use the online version but the Window stand-alone.
Are those applications available for download?
Thank you.
@Fiat Lux - ASIA
I have found the exporter tool (Transaction Pro Exporter) but the Invoice export doesn't allow ITEMs at all.
Any other solution?
Thank you
Are you using QB Desktop?
Yes.
That is just how the liberal brain thinks, no logic.
I found a workaround in QBO itself. I'll try my best to lay this out in a way that make sense:
1. run the report called "Sales by Product/Service Detail"
2. click on "customize report", then add and specify the following filters:
a. check "customer", then select the customer for the invoice you're trying to export to excel.
b. check "transaction type", then set it to "invoice".
c. check "num", then type in the name of your invoice.
3. click on "run report".
4. the report should then show you all of the individual items and their quantities on that invoice, and on that report there is an export button at the top, where you can export it to Excel. I would imagine there's a way to run a similar report for bills and purchases, but I haven't gotten that far yet. Maybe someone else can try to follow my same thought process and figure something out there.
This is the closest thing I've found to being able to export an invoice. Once exported, you can delete the columns you don't need shown, and this should give you at least a good head start for what you're trying to do. I had the same question as OP, and after seeing Intuit's response saying there was no way to export an invoice, I did some playing around and happened to discover this solution. Hopefully this helps everyone.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community.
I'm glad that you're able to perform a workaround in QBO to help you resolve the issue. I also appreciate you for sharing them on the thread.

I replicated my individual invoice by running "Sales by customer detail" report.
I set the reporting timeframe to match the timerframe of my invoice. I then applied a filter to that specific customer. It produced a report that matched all line items from my invoice that had been entered as a "Sale". The line items match up with my invoice perfectly. I exported to MS Excel and was able to sort and manipulate the data in excel to find any discrepancies and also export the data to other spreadsheets in my Project Management workbook. Saved me hours converting from PDF to MS Excel.
