Can we see the entire Social Security Number in the Contractor file?

Hey there, tom-brewer,

I can share some insights about the SSN view in the Contractors List.

At the moment, viewing the full Social Security Number is unavailable in the Workers menu. Good news is, only you can access this information in the Vendors section of the Expenses menu. Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Click the Expenses menu.
  2. Go to the Vendors tab.
  3. Locate and click the vendor's name.
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. The SSN is located in the Business ID No. field.

Having the preference to view the full SSN in the contractors list is a great idea we can add to the program. I would encourage you to submit this product and support feedback to our engineers. Doing this will let them know what features would help a business like yours run even better, and they will consider that in a future update.

Here's how to send your request:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your feedback and suggestions.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select Feedback for the Category.
  6. Click Send message.

I'll do the same thing in my end to reinforce your request. You may also track your suggestion through this website: https://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/

That should do it, tom-brewer. Please notify me if you need further assistance with QuickBooks. I'll be your helpful guide. All the best!

Can we see the entire Social Security Number in the Contractor file?

The problem I encounter with this is when I hit the edit button nothing happens.  Do you know how to fix this?

Hi there, @Ashinicole

We received reports from other users that the Edit Vendor button is non-responsive. We already submitted a notification about this, and our engineers are now working to fix this as soon as possible.

As a workaround, you can perform the recommended steps by clearing the cache. Clearing them out usually resolves these issues and here's how you can accomplish this in all supported browsers:

With that said, I suggest you contact our Technical Support team so they can add you to the list of our affected users. By doing so, you can receive email notifications whenever an update on this investigation is available. You can refer to this investigation number: INV-38761.

Here's how to contact Technical Support:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Help menu.
  3. Select Contact us.
  4. Enter your specific concern.
  5. Select Let's talk
  6. Choose a way to connect with a live agent.
