Hello!
I am trying to add a new account in my "Chart of Accounts." The "new+" button is not showing. Any idea why?
Thanks!
Rhonda
I’m here to ensure you’re able to add a new account in QuickBooks, @Craftygal75.
Stored cache in your browser is sometimes the reason that makes the program unresponsive. You can perform some troubleshooting steps, so you can continue to add an account in the Chart of Accounts.
Start by accessing your QuickBooks Online account in a private or incognito window for testing. Refer to these shortcut keys for quick navigation:
Once logged in, check the New button if it’s now showing. If yes, you’ll need to get back to your main browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also utilize other supported browsers as an alternative.
I have several resources here that give more information about the Chart of Accounts:
If you have other questions or concerns with the chart of accounts, please let me know. I’ll be here anytime to help. Have a good one!
Thanks for your response. However, I tried opening QBO incognito in Chrome. It still does not show the "new" button. I also tried clearing out the cache, which did not work.
Not sure if this could be why, but I was in contact with QBO Help the other day and had a different account setup as my original account was really messed up and rather than trying to figure out how to fix it, I wanted to start fresh. I still have access to the original account because the payment is good until 6/1/21. When I look at that chart of accounts, it shows the "new" button to add new accounts. But, again, my brand new account which has the same email login does not show the "new" button. I also just tried to add new customers and I couldn't. There is an error code.
Thanks for providing additional details of your concern, @Craftygal75.
I appreciate you for following the troubleshooting steps above and for attaching a screenshot.
Since the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our technical support again. They have available tools to re-check the main reason why the New button is missing and fix the error message. Also, they can send a ticket to our engineers for further investigation. Please call them within business hours to ensure we cater to your concern immediately.
Once everything is good, you can now add a new chart of accounts and customers. Then reconcile your accounts to keep your books accurate.
