I reciently moved to QB online form Desktop. There was a report in QB Desktop that would list the checks and a detail of the bills the check paid including classes. Where chan i find a report like that in Online?
I can think of two reports that you can pull up, MaggieE. I'm here to guide you.
First is the Check Detail report. It will provide the transaction's details like number, vendor name, memo/description, class, and amount. Here's how:
Next is the Transaction Detail by Account report. Here's how:
I'll add the article on how to customize the report as a future reference: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

yes - i found that... it doesn't actually show classes or the bills paid details...
Hello there, MaggieE.
Glad that you've found the reports mentioned by my colleague above, we'll have to make sure that the Class feature is turned on in the settings to make it visible on the report. Here's how:
Once done, run the two reports shared above. Also, please take note that migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to Online may not convert all the details to another platform. You can check this article for more details: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online?.
Let me know if you have other questions. Take care and stay safe.
Class tracking is on. when i enter bills and payroll hours i add customer:job and classes. when i run the check detail report none of those details come up- the report from desktop looks like the attached June report (there are some rows pulled to shorten the report and formating). there is no detail under the check in online - thanks for your help
I've checked both reports again, MaggieE.
The Check Detail report is unable to show the details in the bill itself.
I suggest pulling up the second report I shared instead. The Transaction Detail by Account report will provide you the info that you need.
You can follow my steps above on how to customize the report, so you can add the columns that you want.
Also, you can memorize the report. This way, you can save the current customization settings.

so a report i could easily product with the desk top version cannot be produced online?
i need to produce a list of checks, payroll direct deposits, and other outgoing funds that shows what bills were paid and what class those bills covered for a certian time frame. the board then reviews that list and approve the payments... so i really need the list of checks/payments with what bills were paid. it was clean and simple in desktop and what i'm being told is that report cannot be replicated in on-line?

I have the same issue. Does Intuit have any plans to provide the ability to create this report?
Doesn't work.
Doesn't provide the requested report.
None of these suggestions provide the report requested. I too need that same report the original poster has requested. Surely, Intuit can make it happen.
I appreciate you for joining the thread, @CanalTrust.
