Is there any way to change 'Annual Total' amount in a budget that is already set up?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @bbml,
Currently, you're only able to edit the Annual Total for your budget when you edit the amounts per month. Allow me to provide more details about this.
The Annual Total column shows the total of all the amounts entered on the column for each month.
This said, you'll need to change the amount in each month to change the amount in the Annual Total column.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other concerns about your budgets.

Hello,
How do you edit that annual total? I can't figure out where to do it.
Thanks!

If I am starting my Budget mid-year, how do I show the total income already received before I started took over the association. Example: I took over Sept 2020 and all the income was received Jan 2020.
I'll assist with your query on budgets in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
As stated above, you'll have to edit the amounts of each month for the annual total. Concerning your second post, you can create a budget from scratch. This way, you can enter the amounts on each line by hand.
Here's how:

I have a fiscal year company and have been doing budgets for years on QB. I just purchased QB 2022 desktop and uploaded my company. No problem. However, when I create a new budget, it gives me calendar year columns rather than fiscal year. It brings up all previous budgets and they are all fiscal year. How do I solve this problem?
Hi there, @vlcpa001.
Since you're using a new product, your company file's fiscal year might have been set to January. You can still change it by going to the Company Preferences and editing its first month. Here's how:
Once done, you can now set up another budget or use your last year's Profit and Loss data to start one. For more details, check out this article: How to use your data to create budgets and forecasts.
In case you need to review your budgets and forecast, simply go to the Reports menu and select Budgets and Forecasts.

I would like to enter my total annual budget for the year and then split it by the 12 months. Do you think QuickBooks will ever offer that option? It would be far less time consuming than altering 4 of the months by 1 cent to get the correct annual total.

Agreed. I too would like to put in my budget annual amount and not manually enter the divided amount for each month. It is exceptionally time consuming due to the number of line items. I see that this has been asked previously. When will QB fix this issue?????
This is by no means solved. This issue of being able to enter the annual amount vs the per month amounts for each and every one of numerous line items has been asked and ignored multiple times. When will QB solve the issue and allow the option??
Hello there, @Bda Suzuki.
We hear your thoughts about being able to enter the annual amount versus manually entering the dividend amount for each month. However, the option to do so is not yet available in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
