Customer preferred payment and invoice delivery method report

I am trying to run a report to provide the CURRENT preferred invoice delivery and payment method for our customers.  Adding payment method filed to a customer transaction report is not relevant as customers can change their preferences.  The Customer contact and phone list reports do not provide the option to select these fields.  Thank you!

Customizing the payment to your customer is quick and easy. I'm here to guide you on how to do it.

 

You can pull up the Transaction List by Customer report and filter the payment you want.
 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the top, then pick Customers & Receivables and Transaction List by Customer.
  2. Select the Customize Report, then click Filters.
  3. Under the Choose Filter, locate the Payment Method.
  4. Click the drop-down menu, besides the All payment methods from there payment method you want.
  5. Hit OK.

Also, you can memorize the report so you'll bo longer go through the same customization process.

We would like to be able to run a report that includes the "customer preferred invoice delivery method" but we don't see this field in any available selection criteria.  Can this be done and if so how.

Hello Sally, thank you for joining the conversation. I'm here to assist you in generating a report that displays the preferred delivery method in QuickBooks.

 

To do this, you can run the Sales by Customer Detail report and customize its display column to show this info. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Go to Reports and select Sales.
  2. Click Sales by Customer Detail.
  3. Select Customize Report, then go to the Display section.
  4. In the Columns search field, search the Preferred Delivery Method and mark it as check. 
  5. Click OK

We can generate and customize the Sales by Customer Detail report to include the preferred delivery method in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

  1. Go to Reports and click on Sales.
  2. Choose the Sales by Customer Detail.
  3. Hit Customize Report.
  4. On the Display section, navigate to the Columns section.
  5. Search the Preferred Delivery Method in the search field and mark it with a check.
  6. Click OK.

This works only for customer who have an account balance.  If a customer happens to have a zero balance at the moment, they won't show up on this sales report.  I think what most users want is the ability to view a simple report of ALL customers and their preferred delivery method.  Just like the customer phone number report.  Am I right, people??

QuickBooks offers a range of customizable reports to meet your business requirements. In addition to the sales by customer detail report, you can use the Transaction List by Customer report to get a comprehensive view of all customers and their preferred delivery method. 

To generate this report and customize it to display the Preferred Send/Delivery Method information, follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Choose Customer & Receivables.
  3. Select the Transaction List by Customer
  4. Click Customize Report.
  5. Go to the Display option.
  6. On the Columns tab, type-in and select the Preferred Delivery Method.
  7. From the Filter tab, select the Preferred Delivery Method.
  8. Click OK.

YES...I want the ability to add the preferred delivery method to the customer contact list or customer phone list.  That option is not available currently

Yes, you're right, Glacier. The option to add a delivery method to your client's contact isn't supported in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Since this feature isn't available within the software, we encourage you to send your product suggestions to help the QuickBooks Desktop improve your experience.

 

Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Navigate to the Help icon.
  2. Next, click Send Feedback Online.
  3. Press the Product Suggestion.
  4. Select Type of Feedback, then choose any Product Area in the dropdown.
  5. Enter your name and email. Lastly, Send Feedback.
