You can add the customer type by going to the Customer information window.

If you aren't able to add a customer type from there, try replicating the steps in a private window. Sometimes, the stored cache of the regular browser you're using may cause this unusual behavior.

If you're able to add the type successfully, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. Also, using other supported browsers can help us narrow the cause of this behavior.

I also would like to take advantage of this customer "additional info" tab. My version does not include this tab. How do I get it? My tabs are as listed:

Payments & Billing
Language
Attachments

The Additional info tab is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced version. It allows you to assign a type to your customer.
