Yes this is an upgrade from 2018 to 2021!!!
I had tried to call in on Monday afternoon with the callback feature. When they called back, there was no one there. I did the same thing on Tuesday morning and no one was there. I did the "chat" support on Tuesday (5/4) morning. "Karen" was the agent. After getting my license #, the total names and total items in my file (not sure why the total names and total items...) and after I typed in the two investigation numbers (57008 and 12177) that I had seen in previous QB community post, she found our account. She suggested I use the Verify/Rebuild Tool. The verify tool found no problems with our data. I've noticed that previous support folks have mentioned that, and it's not a viable solution! I've used QB for 20 years and this has never happened on an upgrade. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with Windows 10 compatibility. Hopefully they will develop a fix sooner than later. My church treasurer is going to have to recreate a lot of reports!
I wish I'd seen this message two days ago :(
This is an absolute disaster. My accounting is very complicated and my memorized reports are essential. I have SO MANY that I now have to recreate...
Yes, well, my laptop's keyboard died and I had to buy a new system (MAC) and had my files transferred. THe memorized reports did NOT transfer. Is there any way to transfer JUST the memorized reports to my new Mac?
I found a way to get the reports to run! I, too, "upgraded" to 2021 from 2018 Pro and found I couldn't get my memorized reports to run when choosing them from the Reports menu. However...I just now got them to run by going to the Memorized Report List (accessed via Reports/Memorized Reports menu) and double-clicking on a report from there.
They still don't run from the Reports menu, but at least I don't have recreate them from scratch. I just run from the Memorized Report List, change something minor so that it asks me if I want to save and then I can save it into another group folder. Yea!
The first option is available and the second option did not work.
Thanks for joining the thread and following the troubleshooting steps that were shared above, @IndianPrincess.
We have an ongoing investigation about the inability to open memorized reports after upgrading the QuickBooks Desktop version. Our product engineers are now prioritizing this so you can get back to your business as soon as possible.
I recommend giving our Customer Care Team a call to add your account details to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive an update as soon as a fix becomes available.

I have called and been on the phone for hours and in the end, nothing fixed the problem. I don't want to speak to someone unless you have resolved the problem. The articles you reference have nothing to do with fixing the problem. I can't understand why they have not found a solution after all of this time. Do you really have a "team" of programers working on this or do I just need to stop waiting and recreate the hundreds of reports I lost after converting?
YEP - LOST ALL OF MY MEMORIZED REPORTS. UGH!!! Tried all the steps recommended in this link. Going to contact QuickBooks Support tomorrow. Thank goodness I got April 2021 Closed and my reports printed before we Upgraded. THIS IS NOT GOOD!!! UGH!!!
I'm late to this stinking "party" but wanted to make a comment so they see my "vote".
Intuit ... Get this fixed !!
I dont want to upgrade at all. I had to upgrade a few to 2019, 2020 and all have not been able to open
any reports. I have one client that has at least 30-40 reports and I am furious that i have to spend time
to re memorize all of these . Even after I re memorize a few are still not opening. Dont tell me all 70-80 clients
have a corrupt report file. Intuit is nothing like they use to be and I would be the second one to jump ship if there was another program. I have been a proadvisor sinc 2005 and it was never like this. All my clients have payroll
run out of it so they have to upgrade. A lot of them even tried online and hate it so we are all up a creek and no one cares enough to take all our responses and do something. Said world we live in.
AGREED 10 fold!!!!!!!!!
I have a desktop and ALL my memorized reports won't open. This is madness. We also do job costing not to mention the accounting customized reports!
May 17th, 2021
Still hasn't happened!
I was forced to upgrade to QB DT 2021 in order to process payroll. I have since lost my memorized reports. Intuit is "aware" of the problem, and has been for months. The "solution" they recommend is to recreate the reports. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is beyond unacceptable. Intuit needs to be held accountable for the many hours that will be required to recreate the reports. Before you FORCE your customers to pay $$$$ to upgrade, you should be sure that the software works!!
Hi there, ConstructionGTD.
A s of now, we have an ongoing issue accessing the memorized report within the company file. Our engineers are working on a solution to get this feature working back to normal as quickly as possible. While waiting for the permanent fix, we’ll have to add the company to the notification list.

Admins and QB workers: You keep posting the same thing about this being an ongoing investigation but there is no investigation. This problem is due to a software upgrade QBDT made with respect to how reports are processed. Memorized reports with certain customizations do not open in QBDT 2020 or QBDT 2021.
What is really aggravating for me is that I started relying on memorized reports for printing my financials because I could never get Financial Statement Designer to work on my new computer. No one at QB could help me with FSD. So after years of using FSD reports that were initially time-consuming to create, I had to start using memorized reports. It seems now that I have to recreate all those memorized reports. And for multiple client accounts. Again.
It is extremely frustrating that QB does not, either willingly or unintentionally, seem to care about the accounting professionals who use their software, and seems much more interested in getting business owners, who have no knowledge or formal training in accounting, to sign up for QB subscription services to inferior products like QBO. QB used to pride itself on serving the accounting professional and it seems those days are over. I only hope that when I reach the final straw with QB that I am about to be or already am retired.
So if you have a ton of memorized reports with multiple customizations, you may want to stick to older versions of QBDT. It's how I resolved this issue for me.

I feel your frustration.
Hopefully QB resolves this for 2022.

Sounds like we're in the same boat. I really hate doing the same work twice and Intuit is forcing me to do so with memorized reports. I hope they fix this for 2022.
Stop waiting and recreate the reports. Don't upgrade other QB accounts if you haven't already.
No one at Intuit is working on this. This is due to a change in the programming of the software. There is no investigation.
I'm in the same boat; I feel your frustration.

So sorry to learn that... this is very frustrating.
This is terrible, isn't it? How did QB do this and not realize what a nightmare it would be for so many users??? I am flabbergasted. I have been using QBDT since 2006 and have never seen an upgrade cause so much loss of function. What an atrocity. For shame Intuit, for shame!!
So it's 2019, too??? What is wrong with QB???
No and they are not working on it, unless they are fixing this with the 2022 version.
:(
I am totally disappointed in QB and Intuit at this time. They have been sending out messages for months now telling us they are working on a fix for the reports problem. And now we learn they are not doing anything! I have clients on 2018 which MUST upgrade to 2021 before the end of the month. How do I tell them how wonderful QB is and that they should continue to pay the increased fees to Intuit when their 2021 version is garbage and full of problems. Intuit is too concerned with their non-accounting programs (bank loans, insurance, human resources, etc.) to care about the professionals who have previously given them glowing recommendations. Once the accountants get fed up with being treated like second class customers and start migrating to other programs, they may get the hint. But by then it will be too late! And what is worse, no matter what we say or post, they do not bother to be concerned with how we are quickly losing confidence in them and their products!!!!!
totally agree with you about this sham! I can't use an other version because the older version will no longer support the Payroll subscription- that I already pay up the rear for - so I had to purchase this POS upgrade, INTUIT does not give two poops about the actual informed end user. Like you said they try to blow sunshine where you don't want it and get uneducated business owners to use the QBO - I actually had someone tell me they were going to be able to do all there bookkeeping on their phone???? Good Luck To Them. Someone needs to write a program that WORKS and crush Intuit.
