Good morning, @BROSE.

I hope you're having a great day so far.

To best assist you, can you provide me just a bit more details? Like, are you getting this error within QuickBooks? What are you doing when this error appears?

I'll keep an eye out for your response. Thank you for reaching out. Take care!

Error is being emailed to me at random times throughout the day (see attachment).  There is no indication of how to look at the logfile referenced in the email.

I appreciate the quick response, BROSE.

Special characters in the company name, subject line or any field in QuickBooks Online (QBO) can cause this error message.

You can review this article for additional information: Email and customize sales form.

Alternatively, you can print and save PDF of invoice and send them outside of QBO.

Get back to me if you need further help. I'm always happy to assist. Have a great day ahead!

Nope not the problem. Turns out to be related to the AST function of Quickbooks.

Thank you for getting back to us here on the Community page, @BROSE.

At this time, try using a private window to help send the invoice successfully. Sometimes, your regular browser tends to hold onto information, and over time could cause problems while working with QuickBooks. To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

If you're able to send invoices from there, switch back to your regular browser and clear its cache to start fresh. Also, using other supported browsers can help us narrow the cause of this behavior.

If you're getting the same error, I recommend printing and saving a PDF of the invoice, then send it from outside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here are the lists of articles you can read more about sending invoices:

The invoices transfer, contradictory to the error message I am receiving. The problem is with the amount of the invoice, The "Feature" quickbooks calls AST is not pulling the correct tax amounts for my region and therefore the final invoice amounts are wrong, thus generating the error seen above. If anyone knows how to correct the AST tax amounts, or manually override that would be great. If not, does anyone know how to turn off these notifications?

Hello there, BROSE,

QuickBooks Online calculates your sales tax based on these three:

  • customer tax exempt status
  • where you sell and where you ship
  • what you sell or service offered

You might want to double-check your business address and the setup for other tax agencies to make sure QBO will calculate it correctly. Check this article for the detailed steps: Set up where you collect sales tax in QuickBooks Online.

Check these articles for future reference:

Please let me know if you're still getting the same error. I'll be right here to help.

The tax rate that AST is calculating for our region is wrong. I have requested support from QBO with no response.

Hi, BROSE.

Thanks for trying the troubleshooting steps listed.

I recommend reaching out to the Support Team once more for assistance. Agents have the necessary tools to set up a screen-share session and take a look at your account to see what's causing this issue with the sales tax. Here's how to contact an agent:

1. Click the Help button in the top right corner.

2. Select Contact Us.

3. Enter Support in the field and choose Let's talk.

4. From here you can select to chat with an agent, or receive a callback at a time that's convenient for you.

This article provides these steps if you need to bookmark it for future use: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/manage-intuit-account/contact-the-quickbooks-onlin...

Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you need additional assistance. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.

The message says "Please check your production logs."  Where do I check the production logs?  The URL that is provided does not include the domain.
