Thanks for posting here in the community for QuickBooks, @bplct270-gmail-c,
I want to make sure you're able to get your accounts merged. Normally, if you are using the same email when subscribing to both services, all these products will be under one Intuit account user ID.
If you are using different emails or user ID, I recommend getting in touch with our customer service. As much as I want to check on this for you, account related concerns are mainly handled by our live support.
For security purposes, we do not handle account management questions to protect your data in this public page. We have dedicated customer service agents who can review your company ID and update your account credentials. Follow these steps to get a live support to help you:
When you're connected, provide all the information about your concern or request a viewing session with out representative.
Post here again after trying this out. I want to make sure you get the answers regarding your account status and I'll be right here if you need further help. Have a nice day!
Its under same email but payroll in quickbooks asking me to re adding all my employees. when I login in quickbooks it ask me if I want to login in quickbooks or intuit payroll. I just want payroll merge in quickbooks so I don't have to open 2 different websites to operate those. Thank you
Thanks for getting back to us, bplct270-gmail-c.
As my colleague shared above, if you're using the same email, all these products will be under one Intuit account user ID. Since it asks you select which platform to login, I'd recommend reaching out to our Payroll Support team so we can investigate this further.
You can follow my colleagues steps on how to contact us.
Feel free to Reply if ever you need help. Keep safe!
Hi did you get your answer? I have recently been forced into Core payroll and have a qbo account separately. Now have two!
Hi there, @acmcapital.
As my colleague discussed above, if you sign up using the same email for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, these products fall under one user ID. However, if you're using a different email address, it's best to consult our Customer Care team to help you with this. To do this, please refer to the steps outlined above.
For additional reference, check out this article: Sign in to multiple QuickBooks Online companies with one user ID.
If you need further assistance about merging your accounts, feel free to post again here. I'll be always around to lend you a hand. Keep safe.
I am having the same issue. Even though I used the same email address, my new Payroll Core has to be logged into separately from my main Business. If I click on the Payroll tab in my business QBO account, it does not link to Payroll Core and when I look at my settings it says I am not enrolled.
All the advice that's been given so far is about using different email addresses, but that is not the case here - the same address is being used. Does anyone know how to merge the two? Thank you.
I am in the same boat. Same email address, two separate accounts.
Thanks for joining us here, aardvarkgirl. Let me share additional information about merging two accounts.
The ability to merge two company data into one company is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online.
You may cancel the subscription to the incorrect company, then re-subscribe to the correct one instead. From there, manually input the data you needed. I've added this link that contains info about the availability of your data once you cancel your account: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?.
To cancel an account:
To re-subscribe QBO account:
I'll be around if you need anything else about managing your accounts.
Thank you for the information. I don't have two separate companies I am trying to merge and I did not subscribe incorrectly. I was signed into my existing company, clicked on the link to move my payroll service to the required Core, and then it created a new company instead of adding it to the one I already have. I do not want to cancel my account if it's just going to happen the same way again. I appreciate your response.
Hello, aardvarkgirl.
I can walk you through where you can add your payroll service to your existing account.
Whenever you want to add a service to your existing QuickBooks account, ensure that you perform the process on the Billing & Subscription page of your current account.
We can verify if the payroll subscription you subscribed to is linked to your existing account. Here's how:
I also suggest reaching out to our Phone Support Team so they can further check your subscriptions to ensure that there are no double charges. In case that you're subscribed to another account that causes duplicates, you can cancel the recent account.

Always know that I'm one reply away. Just mention my name and I'll be here to help. Take care and have a great day!
Did anyone get an answer to this? I was recently forced into Core as well and now have multiple accounts tied to the same email. Talking to Quickbooks Support and using their Chat is torture.
Same thing happened to me. Got forced into Core. Now I'm paying twice as much for a service that doesn't have the same features and I have two accounts instead of one. Talking to QB support or using their Chat system is a special kind of torture.
It seems there are many such user ending up in 2 accounts, 1 for accounting and 1 for payroll. For users like us we are paying 2 fees although payroll is part of the QBO advanced while Quickbooks is making more money by charging us twice. Quick book should take this up and make sure customers like us are not treated unfairly by paying for the payroll account separately while it is already part of qbo online.
