Hi @bigislandgaines,
I read through your previous posts, and I understand you mentioned that you've already updated your company address in the Account and Settings page.
When you're on the 1099 E-File Service page, you can click the Company Settings link. This is where you can change your company information, such as your legal address.

Good day, @bigislandgaines.
Did you use Capital Expenses as your posting account when recording payment made to contractors? If not, I recommend selecting the expense category used on the transaction on your 1099.
All Other Current Assets and Liabilities, Long Term Liabilities, Cost of Goods Sold, Expenses, and Other Expense accounts available in the Chart of Accounts are displayed in Box 7. If the option is unavailable on your end, I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting steps. Sometimes temporary internet cache files stored up in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product.
Let’s open a private (incognito) window and access the program from there. Check out these keyboard shortcuts:
Once done, test the solution by creating the contractor’s 1099. If it works, go back to your default browser and clear cache. Here’s an article to help with the process: Delete browser cache and temporary Internet files.
Otherwise, switch to a different browser like Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you’re currently on may be having a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser in the meantime will allow you to get back to work.
Take a look at this article for more information: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employe....
I’m adding these resources for your reference: Form 1099-MISC and 1099-MISC box 7: Nonemployee compensation.

Thank you for your help. I had capital assigned as equity in my chart of accounts so QB did not include payments contractors in that category. I have a new issue however:
When I try to generate the 1099s the company address is incorrect. I had a different address under the settings menu but have since updated that address. When I start the process of generating the 1099s, the correct address is listed, but in the last step to review the forms to be submitted to the IRS, the address is wrong. Any suggestion how to get the correct company address to be used?
Hello @bigislandgaines,
Thanks for coming back. Let's edit your company address to make sure you're using the correct one on your 1099 form. Here's how:
If you're still experiencing the same issue after updating the address, I'd suggest you use another supported browser.

I forgot to mention that I had entered the correct address in step 1 of preparing 1099s from the start. When I return to that section now, the address is correct, however when I get to the last step in the e-file service (view and submit), the address for the company on the 1099s is wrong. As far as I know, the address entered on 1099 form preview is not anywhere else in quickbooks anymore.
Also, I tried using MS Edge as my browser (typically using chrome) and had the same results.
Hello there, @bigislandgaines.
Let's review the mapping and select the correct mapping of accounts.

Thank you for your response, however I followed your instructions and despite my company address being listed correctly in #4 of your instructions, when I go to the efile service and preview my forms the company address is a different (and incorrect address). Can you suggest any other changes so that I can submit my 1099s?

Ryan,
Thank you for your response; I wish I had seen it earlier. I did not notice the option to make changes in the e-file service and just spent an hour on the phone with Intuit support where they made the change for me. It's interesting that e-file does not inherit the info from the quickbooks site other than (presumably) the first time the process runs. But now that I am aware that I can make the change myself I can handle this in the future!
