Hello, @Bujet.
I hope you're having a successful business week. Currently, the option to import invoices with sales tax into QuickBooks Online is not available. This is why you keep getting the error message "Import invoices isn't quite ready to support sales taxes." However, you can check out our third-party app options to see if they offer an app that supports importing invoices with sales tax.
Feel free to comment below if you have any other questions. Enjoy the rest of your week!
As mentioned by Anna S , you will need an importer tool for your needs.

When can we expect the import invoice function will be fixed in Quickbooks Online? Or will this feature no longer be available?
When can we expect the importing invoices function to be fixed by Quickbooks Online? Or is the expectation that the import invoice feature will no longer be available?
Hello there, Charles24.
I know how how importing invoices saves time. However, we don't have a specific time frame as to when importing invoices with sales tax be available. I'm also ending another feedback to our engineers with the this thread attached to it as their reference. Meantime, we can manually record invoices from the +New button.
Feel free to get back to me if you need anything else. Take care!
how can i import multiples invoice WITHOUT sales tax?
Hello, @Anonymous1.
You can import your invoice in your QuickBooks Online via CSV file.
Let me help you how.
Once done, map your import fields.
After you map the fields, review the summary of your import. If everything looks good, select Start import. Then, select OK if all your invoices are imported.
You can refer to this article for additional information on how to import multiple invoices at once. Import multiple invoices at once.

Hi Pabz_L,
I know where to import the invoices. but when I click on Import invoices, the error screen of "Import invoices isn't quite ready to support sales tax" pops up; and I cannot go through the next screen. See my attachment.
Please help.
Hello @Bnguyen1,
You'll want to turn off the automated sales tax first before importing your invoices at once. This is the reason why you receive such an error message when uploading them.
Lastly, here's an article you can read for ideas about what other lists you can import: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help.
I have read through all this and I am very disappointed with QBO.
I went with QBO because it had the import invoice functionality. When looking through the template it has a place for taxable and the amount. That would lead one to think the import functionality for taxes is available.
Also, the QBO import guide even includes a section about ensuring the taxes are filled out correctly and shows you how to do so (attached).
Not being able to import with taxes basically renders the invoice import functionality useless.
Oh but wait! There is an app I can subscribe to for $100+ a year that allows me to import the taxes? Huh...that seems odd. Sounds like bait and switch to me.
This is base functionality and should be included in the product immediately. Since it is not I am looking elsewhere. Very disappointed in you QBO. Very disappointed.
On another note, my bank transactions are not importing for some reason. I tried to chat with someone and was told someone would be with me in about 5 minutes. No one ever tried to chat with me. After an hour of piddling around waiting I gave up. Very disappointed.
I definitely understand how it can be frustrating to sign up for a service and have it not work the way you think it should be, @kjm04d.
Also, let me take note of your feedback about not being able to include taxes when importing invoices.
In addition, due to the ongoing pandemic, the availability of our phone and chat support is limited. This is the reason why you're unable to connect with them.
You can also share with us the details about the issue you're getting with when importing bank transactions. This will help us trace the cause of the issue and provide you an appropriate solution.
However, you can still manually download your bank transactions using CSV files in QuickBooks Online.
Once the import is finished, you are directed to the banking menu or Transaction menu where your imported transactions are displayed on the For Review tab. As you review your downloaded transactions, you can assign a payee, category, class, or location to each transaction as needed.
If you have any other concerns, feedback, or questions, don't hesitate and come back to the Community. I'm always here to help you. Have a great day.
So I should just go head and pay more for the other software because your not going to turn it back on or what?
Just turn it back on, no one has time for this.
Hello, I have read multiple threads, and unfortunately I concur with multiple complaints on the import feature.
The import guide provides steps for configuring taxes. These steps should be removed since they are not supported by the system.
Turning off taxes also doesn't work, once you have even one invoice where taxes were referenced.
So, now I am at a place with invoices in the system, and 100+ invoices which I can't import because taxes are not supported. Frankly, I don't even need taxes, I just don't want to enter them all by hand.
This leaves me with an odd choice - I either modify all of the existing invoices, which results in an email to my customers that I've updated things. GOD forbid someone takes action and makes a payment or asks for a refund.
or choice B - I manually enter all of the invoices.
Thanks for posting here, @Homecook.

It is disappointing that as of June 2022. I am also victim of this "bait and switch." Since 2020, there is still no solution regarding this integrated import invoice data feature.
Same! QBO has been very disappointing lately
I am a non-taxable organization and I cannot import invoices now. I don't know what would have changed to not allow me to import. I cannot figure out how to trouble shoot.
Hey there, @JH2505.
Can you share with me the error message you're getting when importing invoices into QuickBooks? Any additional info would be much appreciated.
There are times when accumulated cache in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This can be the reason why you're unable to import invoices into the program.
To isolate the issue, let's open your account in a private window. This will help us check if the problem is cache-related and fix it. Simply press the following shortcut keys to access this mode.
If it works, let's clear your browser's cache to delete temporarily stored files and free some space on your browser. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to be thorough.

The option to import invoices with sales tax set up in your account into QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable, Charles24.
You'll see this error message if you have Automated Sales Tax (AST) set up in your QBO account and Importing Invoices isn't supported for customers with AST yet. Rest assured that our developer team is still working to make that function available to those customers. You can visit this article for more details about this option: Import multiple invoices at once in QuickBooks Online.
In the meantime, you'll want to consider looking for a third-party app that allows you to import your invoices with sales taxes into QBO. You can also visit the QuickBooks App Center website and search for a third-party application that best suits your business needs.
Additionally, you can check out this article to learn how to personalize the appearance by adding specific info to your sales forms in QBO: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
I'm all ears if you have other concerns about the system's features and managing your invoices and other sales forms in QBO. Take care, and have a great day!
