Hi cantareadio!
Your invoice also represents your business, and it's just right that it should look professional. I'll guide you to change the details.
To do this, create an invoice and click on Edit work info in blue text to change your name. Then, click on Customise in the upper right-hand corner and choose Email to change the body of the mail. Any changes in your work info will also reflect on other transactions.
If you need more help, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread. Happy holidays!
Wow, thanks for your quick response!
Actually, this isn't at all what mine looks like. I'm using QBSE (self employed) and I don't have these options. I do have an edit work info where I was able to change my last name (thank you!)
I still haven't found where I can edit the emails that are sent to my clients.
Thanks for getting back to us here, @cantareadio.
I have some information about how you can edit your emails. The steps above are where you can change your work info on your invoices in QBSE. To edit your invoice greetings on emails, you'll need to click on the Customize button to see it.
Here's how:
Need more details about the email message? Check out this guide: Invoice reminders.
In case you need help with other QBSE tasks, browse this link here and select a topic that suits your needs.
Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns about the program. I'll be around for you. Take care and happy holidays.
My screen looks completely different. I'm trying to attach a photo. I hope shows up.
If not, there isn't a customize button for me.
I've got you covered, @cantareadio.
This may be a browser-specific issue. To fix this, let's access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account using a private browser. Private mode prevents storing cache and cookies that might cause problems when running websites.
Here are the shortcut keys you can use:
When signed in, follow the outlined steps provided by my colleague, ShiellaGraceA to change your email greetings. For more info about the process, please visit this article: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
If this works, let's clear the cache of your regular browser. It will remove the stored cache or cookies that might cause the problem and this also refreshes your browser's background processes. If you still can't see the customize button, use another supported browser. It could be that the one you're currently using has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.
Then, if in case you want to get a copy of your invoices just go to the Invoices menu and choose print or export as PDFs.
Please know that you can always post here if you have further concerns about changing your email greeting in QBSE. I'll be around whenever you need further assistance. Take care always.
It looks like my screen capture didn't attach to my last post for some reason.
I tried going into incognito mode, everything looks the same except for the incognito icon at the top of the browser.
I also tried downloading another browser to both my laptops. I've tried from both my HP and my Acer.
It looks the same on all of them.
Thank you for getting back to us, @cantareadio.
Since you've already performed the troubleshooting steps above and still cannot edit your invoice email greetings, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed support team. You can request a screen share so they can see your screen. This way, they can further investigate the root cause of the issue and provide steps you need to do.
Refer to these easy steps to connect with them:
Let me know how this goes and post a reply below. I'll do anything I can to help you customize your invoice in QuickBooks. Have a good one.
Hi everyone,
I do not get a side menu that pops up when I click the customize button?
A cache-related issue is likely causing the sidebar menu to be missing, nicendry.
When cache builds up, it can affect the performance of your browsing activities. Consider accessing QuickBooks through an incognito window or private browser to address this. This mode doesn't retain your browsing history, occasionally leading to software issues like encountering errors or missing options. You can use these shortcut keys as a reference:
When it's now visible, return to the regular browser and clear the cache. This removes any historical data resulting in unusual browser behaviors. Switching to a different supported browser can also fix the issue.
In addition, you can assign categories to the transactions to ensure they are allocated correctly on the relevant line of your Schedule C: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
