I am also looking for a report to show gross receipts for a certain quarter.

Once you've customized the dates for the P&L, which account or category do you magnify for the actual number that is your gross receipts for that time period?

Hi there, @cmrbuilder.

 

You can customize the report to All Income Accounts only. I'd be happy to show you the steps. below.

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu and enter "Profit and Loss Report" in the search box.
  2. Select the correct Date range and click the Customize button.
  3. In the Filter section, set the Distribution accounts to All Income Accounts.
  4. Select Run Report.

I do not just have "all income" I have "all income/expense".  Can you please direct me to another way of running gross receipts I need to so quarterly

You'll be able to access your gross receipts for the desired quarter.   1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  4. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. Thank you for providing that screenshot. I have a quick question, which report are you trying to run?  In most cases, when a user cannot filter a report, it is because their profile is not set up with the permissions to do so. I would verify with the Admin to see about making some changes if that is the case. This article is very resourceful when it comes to QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions.

Thanks, I'm the only user on the account (besides my accountant) so I'm set as the primary admin.

Thanks for letting us know of the access rights you have in the company, jr0n.

 

The filter option is only available on certain reports, as well as the plan you are subscribed to. If you have the Simple start version, you will need to upgrade your plan to Essentials or Plus for more customization. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear > Account and settings.
  2. On the left panel, click Billing & Subscription.
  3. Make sure your payment information is up-to-date.
  4. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  5. Review the available plans and then click Choose plan.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.
