How do I import a CSV file into a specific invoice template? I created an invoice template to use for a specific product & need to import the data to that exact template

Hi again, Mchatwell.

Currently when importing transactions, we have a set template within the software to be used. I understand this can throw your ideal work flow off but we have it in place to make it simple for all of our users. We would greatly appreciate your feedback on matters such as this. to send your feedback within your QuickBooks Online company file:

Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.

We use your valuable feedback in the release of future updates. You're able to track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website. I'll be sure to submit this request on my end. If there's anything else I can help with please let me know.

Hey there, mchatwell. Creating a new template for your invoices is best in this case. We don't currently have a way to import csv files into a template. This way you can change where your company information and layout. This article shows how to customize each part of the form, and it includes a great video tutorial. You can change the template for an existing invoice by clicking the Customize button, which is in the gray menu bar at the bottom of the page. I'd already created the template. What I need to do now is import the billing data for each invoice into that exact template which is where I'm hung up. When I import, I find that I keep having to rebuild the import and am not given the option to import the CSV file data directly into a specific template which I already built. The main reason for this is A) a new product which will have it's own billing parameters/price points and B) I need to set payment options for this product that are different from our companies usual payment options (i.e., allow for cc and bank transfers).
