Good day, rasayles98.
Deleted vendors will become inactive in QuickBooks Online. Let me walk you through how you can make it active again. Here's how:
I also have some screenshots below for more details. Let me know if you need anything else.
And what do I do if the deleted vendor is simply not in that list that supposedly includes inactives?
Hi there, @MFUangry.
Thanks for joining the conversation. Allow me to add to this discussion about deleted vendors.
Deleting a vendor in QuickBooks Online is currently unavailable. However, you can make one inactive.
Check out this article for more information: How to make a vendor inactive.
All vendors, active or inactive should show under your Vendors tab. All you need to do is click the small Gear icon and select Include inactive.
If they don’t show on the list, perform a few browser-related troubleshooting. It’s possible that local internet cache files are behind this unexpected behavior. Sometimes it stores up in your system and causes issues in your web pages.
You can start by switching to a different browser or using a private window when logging in to QuickBooks. Here’s how:
• Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer)
• Command + Shift + N (Safari)
• Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
• Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox)
If it works, you need to clear your browser’s cache to remove stored data. Before doing so, make sure to take note of your saved passwords and URLs. Once done, here's an article with the steps on how to perform clear cache: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.
That should do it. Let me know how it goes after trying out the steps. Leave a reply below if you have clarifications, I'm more than happy to help. Take care and have a great day!
If a vendor is merged with another vendor - the original vendor is totally deleted - and not marked as inactive. When I try got export the list through quickbooks web connector, even if I include inactive vendors, the original vendor is not included in the list. Is there any way to get the original deleted vendor, so that I can delete it in my database?
Hi snussbaum,
Merged vendors is a different story because this will really combine two profiles into one. Meaning the other profile will be lost, not inactivated, but it will be lost. We're unable to reverse this anymore.
If you have other questions, please let us know.
Thanks, is there anyway to get this information when querying the vendor list (or some other way all together) to get this deleted vendor with qb web connector? I want to be able to update the vendor in my database as deleted/inactive.
Hello there, snussbaum.
I understand that you need to update your vendor's database. I can share some information to resolve this.
You'll have the option to run the Vendor Contact List report and customize it base on your preference. In this way, you will be able to view those deleted profiles. I'll show you how.
1. Go to Reports.
2. Search for Vendor Contact List.
3. Click Customize, and the Filter dropdown.
4. Hit Deleted dropdown, then choose Deleted.
5. Click on Run report.
6. Select the Export icon.
7. Choose either Export to Excel or Export to PDF.

Thanks, is there a way to get these deleted vendors through the QB Web Connector?
Hello there, snussbaum. I'd like to provide additional details.
Getting the deleted vendors using the QB Web Connector in QuickBooks Online is unavailable.
Merging two vendor profiles will transfer the data from the other profile to the one you kept. QuickBooks will no longer have a copy of the profile you choose not to keep. It'll be removed from your book, and please take note that it'll not be marked as an inactive vendor. Also, there's no way to undo the process.
If these vendors are not merged, you can follow the recommendation shared by my colleague above. You can run the Vendor Contact List report to get all the deleted vendors. Note: Vendor profiles that have been merged will not apply to the report.
Still, you can check the articles shared in this thread to learn more about handling reports in the program:
