I matched a bank transaction to the wrong bills. Consequently, the actually paid bills are still showing as unpaid in AP. How can I clear them without changing my F/S?

The 2 bills are in different periods. So I can't rematch the bank transaction and match it to the correct invoices.

I'll help you in clearing that, pconey-albers-ae.

Since you're no longer able to match the bank transactions again, you can enter a bill payment to close the outstanding bills. Here's how:

  1. Click the + New button.
  2. Select Pay Bills.
  3. From the Payment account drop-down menu, select the account you paid the bill from.
  4. Enter the reference number and actual payment date.
  5. Select the checkboxes for the bills you made a payment towards.
  6. In the Payment column, enter the amount you paid toward each bill.
  7. Hit Save and close.
