Hello,

The Product or Service you place on the invoice is what drives the income account affected.  Go to your product and services list and see what income account is associated with the item you're putting on your invoice.  If it's the wrong account, you can change it on that screen.

I have similar issue and corrected in Product and Services List and fixed this but there are three invoices that did not change.  How can I change them? I have already emailed these invoices to my customers

Hello there, @Emily72.

I’m glad that the steps above were able to help you correct the issue.

However, since there are still 3 invoices that didn’t move over to the new account, let’s check the items on the transaction. Make sure that a revenue account is associated with the product or services selected.

Here’s how:
1.    Locate the invoices and open them.
2.    Check what item is on the transaction.
3.    Go to the Gear icon and select Products and Services.
4.    Look for the item and change the income account into Revenue account.
5.    Select Also update this account in historical transactions box.
6.    Click Save and close.

After verifying the account associated with the items, run a Revenue account report. Follow the steps below:
1.    Click Accounting from the left menu and select Chart of Accounts.
2.    Search for the Revenue account and click the Run report link.
3.    Select a Report period.
4.    Hit Run report.

Once done, you’ll see the invoices reported under this account.

This should help, but if you continue to get the same result after following the steps, I recommend giving our Customer Care Team a call for further assistance.  They have tools such as screen-sharing to help you double check why this happens.

Here's how to reach them:
1.    Go to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
2.    Choose QuickBooks Online.
3.    Select a topic twice.
4.    Scroll down and click the green Get Phone Number button to get their contact information.

Please let me know how it goes after contacting them. If you have any follow-up questions, leave a comment below. I'm always here to help. Thanks for reaching out, I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
