Is there a way to take two invoices and merge them into a single invoice before sending them to a client?

Hi there, userinfo110.

I'll help with your question about managing invoices.

We're unable to merge invoices or any other types of transactions in QuickBooks Online. You can edit the first invoice and add the details from the second one. Then, delete the second invoice so it will not become a duplicate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and proceed to the Invoices tab.
  2. Look for the invoice and click on it.
  3. Select Edit invoice in the lower-right hand corner.
  4. Add the products or service items from the second invoice.
  5. Click Save and send.

Then, follow the steps in this article on how to delete a transaction: Void or Delete Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You'll also want to take a look at this article in case you want to add customization to your sales form: Customize Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts in QuickBooks Online.

The Community is always here if you need anything else. I'd be glad to help you again.

Providing the best experience with the product is what we aim for, @Brnstrmr.

There's no specific time frame on when the feature to merge invoices or any other types of transactions will be available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'd recommend sending this request straight to our product engineers through feedback. Sharing features and options that you would like implemented is how our engineers look for new product updates. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Then select Next to submit feedback.

You'll want to check for a third-party application that can help you with this one. You can check out the apps that are compatible with QuickBooks at this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Apps on the left side menu.
  2. Search for the app in the Find apps to streamline your work field.
  3. Look for the app that supports the Batch Invoicing feature.

Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account are best handled by the third-party app provider. In the meantime, just delete the second invoice so it will not become a duplicate. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Click the Invoices tab.
  3. Look for the invoice and click on it.
  4. Select Edit invoice in the lower-right hand corner.
  5. Add the products or service items from the second invoice.
  6. Press Save and send.

For more tips and other resources, you may visit our page in managing your business in QuickBooks: QBO Self-help articles.

I'll be right here to continue helping if you have any other concerns or questions about QuickBooks. Assistance is just a post away. Take care always.

I posted a feature request for this 3 years ago

When will you be looking at adding this essential function?!

For as much as we pay for your service,    the customer service is poor.   At the current moment I believe most stay with your product only for convenience.    But once a better product comes to market most of us might leave.   I hope you head this warning

Agreed.. customers service is the worst I've ever come across

There needs to be a invoice merge feature

Thinking of building an app that merges invoices into one.  If you have a project with many resources using T Sheets (QuickBooks Time) there is no workflow that allows sending one invoice.  If you have 10 resources on the project then you have to send 10 invoices to the client.  10!

Thanks for dropping by in the Community Space, Sarah-Zee and Billyinvoice.

I can see how convenient it is to merge invoices or any other types of transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know that due to high volumes of feature requests. Our product engineers might still not have reviewed your feedback.

Thus, I recommend sending your feedback or suggestions again to our product engineers. This way, they can further review your request and might consider adding it to our future product updates.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Under Profile, select Feedback.
  3. Share your suggestion and click Next.

To check the status of your request, refer to this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.

I've added this helpful reference to help you personalize and add specific information to your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

This way, it contains essential tools to create some customization in your sales forms.

If you require additional assistance with any QuickBooks-related concerns, feel free to add them below. We'll be around to help. Take care!

At this time the feedback function doesn't work.

I agree this feature is needed.

Intuit keeps raising prices but the features aren't necessarily following the same pattern.

I understand the importance of merging invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Grace. Allow me to jump in and share some information about this.

At the moment, we do not have a precise timeline for when this feature will be available in QBO. In the meantime, you can send your thoughts through your account. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear located at the top.
  2. Under Profile, click Feedback.
  3. Enter your recommendation and click Next to submit.

I encourage you to visit our Firm of the Future site regularly, to be updated with our product enhancements and road-maps.

Please know that we're always here if you need more help with QuickBooks. Take care.
