Many customers would like to have new invoices sent as CC to additional email addresses. Where in QBO is this added? QB Deskop Customer record includes a CC field.

You'll be happy to know that you can add a Carbon Copy (CC) email address in sending an invoice. And I'd be glad to walk you through the steps.

1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
2. From the left menu, click Sales.
3. In the Messages section, you can enter the email address under Copy (Cc) new invoices to address.
4. Click Save.
5. Hit Done.

From there, you also have the option to enter a BCC to your email.

Thanks for the reply.  I am looking for a way to add a customer requested CC for sending invoices.  In the customer information section, there is only an input field for email.  I have to manually enter the CC email addresses manually when I send each invoice.  I have tried to enter numerous email address in the email field but there is limit space.

Yes, you're correct. There is a 100-character limit in the recipients' email address field which includes the spaces. The following article contains more information about this: How to email a sales form or report to multiple email addresses.

Also, you can still follow the steps provided by my colleague, Mark_R to enter the email addresses to the Cc field. After that, you just need to change the default sales form selected to use this format for your invoices. Let me show you how: 

1. At the top right, click the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. On the left pane, select Sales.
4. In the Messages section, you can enter the email address under Copy (Cc) new invoices to address.
5. From the Sales form drop-down, select Invoices and other sales forms.
6. Click Save.
7. Hit Done.

So based on the response, it is not currently possible to add CC  email addresses stored in "Customer Information" to populate on an invoice.  How do I submit this as a suggested addition to Quickbooks Online ? Thanks !

Currently, we suggest adding CC email addresses in the Notes field of the Customer Information page and then copying and pasting them into the CC field on the invoice page.

I understand your request for a more convenient way to enter CC email addresses directly on the Customer Information page. This would save you time from entering the CC email address multiple times. I've forwarded your comment to our product engineers to highlight the importance of this feature for your business.

I second the suggestion in the thread. It's pretty common to have this type of option.

I had to create 16 consecutive invoices to the same customer and had to copy and paste the CC address each time.

In saying that, can I also please suggest the following?!

When we add an additional CC email address for every invoice....The CC receives the invoice under the assumption they are receiving the invoice as the "TO"  because there is no indication otherwise. Then they are compelled to forward it to the their accountant (example) who is already receiving as the auto canned "TO" address. 

This causes an extra step for all involved, and can be an annoyance for those invoiced infrequently.

I don't want to add a CC to all my invoices.  I want to CC a specific person at a specific customer.  I don't want to add them in the TO field.

I can walk you through on how you can have the specific person receive the invoice of the particular customer in QuickBooks Online.

When you set up an email as a Carbon Copy (CC) for invoices in QuickBooks Online, all the entries sent will be received by email that you've entered.

In your case, I suggest adding the email address of the particular person on the customer's profile or in the entry itself. This way, he will be able to receive all the invoice transactions of the said customer. Make sure that the email addresses are separated with commas (,).

Is there an update on this issue? I also have a customer that requested she is CC'd on all invoices to her accounting dpt and I would like this to be automatically available in the customer template as

"to: accounting.com and cc: Mrs.X" so that each new invoice is pre-populated this way and I don't have to copy/paste from the notes or from anywhere else either.

I can certainly understand how an option for adding Carbon Copy (CC) email addresses to customer profiles could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
 

Here's how:

1. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon.
   
2. Click Feedback.
3. Enter your suggestions and/or comments.
4. Hit Next.
5. Choose Skip and send message.
6. The available drop-down menu can be used to pick an appropriate category.
7. Select Send message.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. Feature requests can be tracked through Intuit's Customer Feedback website.
 

As a workaround, you can add CC emails using the information from Mark_R's and MaryGraceS's posts. There's additionally an option to automatically populate multiple addresses in your Customer email field when creating new invoices. Steps for this can be found in BettyJaneB's post.

Several of our customers also need invoices cc'd to another address.

This was possible in QB Desktop so is a step backwards for us moving to QBO

I understand I can add the 2nd address to the To: field as a workaround but would prefer to keep with convention and use the cc filed

Looks like this has been an outstanding request for quite a while, would be great if this could be implemented
